Basketball Bailey struggles, Rutgers Basketball falls to Michigan 66-63

Overall defense, maybe not. But zero timely defensive stops. It’s easy to see that 66 and say defense wasn’t the problem. Shooting clearly sucked. But my point is, we got zero timeline stops when we needed them. It was 46-44, and Michigan scored with ease
Agreed, it seemed like late Michigan moved the ball well and ran sets to take advantage on the inside. It worked as it felt like we were not getting stops in last 5 minutes like we were earlier in the game. Did not get stops late which is what you need to win a game.

Exactly, you can’t expect Ace to win every game. We cut it 46-44 and we couldn’t get a stop to save our life. If we had any defensive presence we would have actually gotten the stops we needed
Ace couldnt hit the ocean so instead of having 6'10 guy that can jump thru the roof standing outside arc....why not take JD, jK & JW drive to basket, draw defender & have AB cut to hoop for easy dunk/layup instead of hoisting 3's

NOT 1 player cuts to hoop w/o ball. We are 5 out that stay out.

We are now 2-4 in home games in Big 10 play, not nearly good enough, that needed to be 5-1 at least

Yeah .. I guess I got blinded by our lights out shooting..
Where in my post did I say anything about our shooting.
Both can be true. Did we or did we not get any consistent stops late in the game? No we did not

And both are true
The problem is, our defense has been ass all year because of lack on interior play. I’m not talking about Ace

I guess you didn’t watch the game….

We had stops and steals on many occasions. Couldn’t convert
Reread my post. We did not have stops and steals late in the game. I have no clue why it took Michigan so long. But under 7 minutes left, they killed us in the paint. I have no clue why it’s so controversial to say Michigan scores with ease late in the game. They did

I just can’t let this staff get away with allowing Ace to have another day like he did today.

Everything contested. Never a clean look unless it’s the double screen fade away 3 inbound play. Even that is a horrible look for everyone not named Ace.

GET THE KID AN OPEN LOOK.

You mis understood my post. I conceded your point with sarcasm about our shooting being the distraction for me .

Also - I think someone said that Rutgers is monitoring season tickets to see if they are being frequently sold rather than used. The seats above and beside me are very frequently opposing fans, and I don't think I've seen the same people in them twice. Anyone know who I can contact about that? Is it just my ticket rep?

Ace won us the NWestern game and he lost us the Michigan game, he was beyond awful today
Bailey's poor shooting performance was comparable to the game against Michigan State at MSG where he shot 3-17 but still scored 18 points because of foul shots.I wish I knew the reason his best performances have been on the road.Michigan didn't impress me with all their unforced turnovers.Any other B1G Ten opponent playing home would have defeated Michigan based on their performance against Rutgers.

Loss today had zero to do with defense. Though UM did not have to take 1 outside shot. If they played nothing but the paint they would have fouled out 3 guys. We had nobody that could handle their bigs. UM played unselfish ball and hit alot of cutters for easy hoops.

Nothing ticket office can do about resales. It’s a ticket holder’s right to do what they like with the ticket.

I thought I remember hearing at some point that they were looking at frequent resales to curb scalping (specifically, people buying tickets solely for purposes of resale).

I guess you can say it’s a personnel problem. Either way, it was a joke how easy it was for Umich to score I the last 7 minutes of the game. Unfortunately, our staff major some major miscalculations with the roster/portal

Well coached and experienced playmakers
.theyve done in lately in their shaky 4-5 game stretch. Goldin and Wolf 15 points combined in late stretch

Wolverines played stinky but like Sparty did just enough to get some seperation in a game based on paper shouldn't have been close

The school promotes stubhub so...

I mean speculating. I know they promote StubHub for fans to sell tickets they can't attend - but I thought they were taking efforts to prevent buying of tickets that are sold for every contest. I might be hallucinating, though.

Almost the entire top of 304 (mid-court, top of the RAC) is visiting fans almost every game. Tonight there were a couple dozen Wolverine fans.

Your whole offensive philosophy cannot be a 5 out 3pt hoisting offense. You MUST be able to score 15Ft & in
Playing against 2 7 footers will do that to you. Derkack loves to force shots up and he was reluctant to put it up inside.

It certainly can be.
But "our" offensive philosophy cannot be because we don't have (or recruit really?) 3pt shooters.

People keep saying "we had open shots. Just need to hit them".

There's a reason they doubled Ace and left everyone else open for 3pt shots.
Because we can't hit them. An open 3pt shot is a better option for the defense than Ace doing anything.

Put Ace on a team with capable 3pt shooters and see how well doubling him works.

He had a ton of open looks. At the end of the day he is a Freshman & inconsistent. He needs to knock that mental part of the game down. When he cuts down the highs & lows and hits the average day in & day out...watch out.. He has crazy upside
