Basketball Rutgers Basketball wins second straight, downs USC 95-85

Very slight chance IMO. I think those runs really only help teams who were already on the bubble before the conference tournaments. 17-14 wouldn’t put us on the bubble. We’d be 21-15 or 22-15 with some bad losses. Don’t think it would do it.
But in that scenario we would be 13 or 14 and 11 in the Big. Most teams with 14 league wins make tournament....again im.not saying we would be for certain. I'm arguing BACs overconfident " No" as if he is the overlord of the committee.

And he's not the overlord---- not even close. And noone is even saying we're close -- but many remember him blowing our sure thing to get in-- he was wrong then big time and he's often wrong.-- ever read his rants during games that turned out wrong.

The committee doesn’t care about how many Big 10 wins we may have. It’s about the resume of the whole season, winning out and getting to 17-14 might put us on the fringes of a bubble and being way outside the field, but not close to being in. The committee is not paying attention to what we do in the Big 10 tournament. They have picked the field by the time the conference tournaments have started. They may have not figured out all the seeding, but they already know who’s in and who’s out. Trying to finish with a .500 or winning record and maybe playing in Vegas is a more realistic hope.

League wins aren't considered

15 losses..only 3 schools ever at large and 17-14 heading into tourney play is rare air percentage wise. You can't make a resume in 4 days when the committee likely has their field selected on Thursday

Exactly

This is our blueprint now

Need 50% plus shooting and outscoring every opponent in a race
If anything, it seems the defense has somehow gotten worse as the season progressed as each game looks like more of a layup line than the last. We won the last two games and we averaged 90 points per game in those 2 wins. We can only win with scoring as we just give up too many easy points in the paint. If we are red hot offensively in to close out the season we might be able to make some noise, but defense is just not gonna happen this year.

If that scenario happens, I'll bet you we get in....17-14 with road wins at Michigan at Purdue. Plus 3 or 4 in a row in Big tournament ...I'd bet alot on it.

Great team win with five players in double figures. The game was won on the foul with clutch shooting by Davis,Sommerville and Bailey. The only negative was the defense allowing at least 15 layups. The team now has 8 wins against B1G Ten rivals,

First we would have to beat Michigan and Purdue, if we did that then maybe I’ll start having more of an open mind towards us getting in. But realistically, we have shown nothing this year to indicate that we are going to pull off 5 wins in a row (from Washington thru Minny) and that we’ll beat 2 teams back to back that are at the top of the conference, on the road no less. If we did all that then we could engage in a debate, until all that happens we are like a fart in a tornado as far as NCAA chances. Even if we did all that I don’t think we get in, I think you’re placing value on the conference tournament and the committee doesn’t care about the conference tournaments.

committee has to look at conference champions and play because upsets in a conference championship game can alter the playing field dramatically, especially in conference where maybe 2 or tops 3 teams get in

Should have never let them roll it up the floor. At least have one guy back there so they can't do that. Also, Jeez get a rebound find a man and put a body on him instead of gazing lookingly at the ball in the air.
Seems like this has been an RU problem forever, letting opponents go coast to coast off a throw in, one way or another. There was an NIT game years ago where we had the game won with only seconds left on the clock, and the other team got the pass in - in this case, they dribbled the length of the court and won the game at the buzzer with a layup (Manhattan?) - at the RAC. My whole section was hollering, "Stop the dribbler!!!!" as their guy ran down the court. Can't tell you how many practices I've attended where teams run a drill for those scenarios where the coach yells, "Stop the ball!!!". All the time. But, it doesn't seem to happen here 🤔. Ahh, the trials and tribulations of RU fandom! Go RU! Nice win tonight, guys!!!!!

This is probably/possibly what the fans and players - and coaches - were envisioning and working to create back in Vegas and immediately thereafter. I know everyone here has their favorite whipping boys for what happened this year. But, there are some nights where it is so difficult to figure out why or how the wheels came off this train so badly. Go RU! KEEP CHOPPING!

i just do not think not playing defense is sustainable over the course of a season. We lost these type games to Princeton and Iowa...beat Notre Dame and Nebraska. Yet its our best chance at this point backs against the wall.

The most impressive part of Dylan’s night for me came after the game. While his whole team walked past (some gave high five’s) a group of 5-7 kids Dylan stopped talked to them all, and signed autographs for them as he entered the tunnel.

Was a really cool moment to witness. The Harper’s have always represented Rutgers with class.

If you’re taking bets lol…

17-14 would still put at us at ~1 percent chance of a berth. B1G tournament play really doesn’t move the needle. We’re effectively eliminated from at large consideration

I keep hearing Big 10 tournament wins don't count...if we won out and lost in Big finals thats a 7 or 8 game win streak in one of the best leagues in the nation. You are sniffing glue if you don't think those wins will be considered
