Basketball Rutgers Basketball defeats No. 23 Illinois with return of Dylan Harper

Fairly officiated game with the usual missed calls.. some glaring.. both ways.. and the effort by one official to stop our fast break. I was impressed by the quick travel calls against Illinois and was a bit shocked they "m missed" that late one... and yet.. on replay.. I got it.. it was close.. he got the ball.. took a step and power dribbled.. then took two steps to pass the ball.. that's a no-no.. but it was close. It looked like his right foot was a re-established pivot and his left foot took additional steps.

One of the things the more cautiously optimistic among us said in preseason was that by the end of the year, if everyone gels.. no one will want to see us on their Big Ten tourney or NCAA Tourney brackets.

Make it so.

Fun to see em wearing scarlet at home. Wish we did it more often.

Are we pretending we'd make the tournament if both Harper and ace were playing now? I could've sworn they were playing when they were losing to the cupcakes like Kennesaw State and princeton
U R one of the biggest JOs on this board. 4-1 in the BIG with D Harp healthy. Does this YOUNG team with all new players get half the season to Connect. Stop being an idiot already.

Ace played 36 minutes and Dylan 34 coming off the injury. The fact the some here think Steve should just run them into the ground is just bat shirt crazy, they need to get their breaks.
Probably the same Einsteins in the crowd screaming NOOO when Pike sat Ace at 8:14 before the media time out.

Half the season? If they don't make the tournament this season is a complete failure. Anyone with half a brain should understand that I don't give a shit if they play well. Making the tournament is literally all that matters and we still have a near impossible hole to claw out of

Pike needs to figure out how to get Acuff involved with Harper back. Not sure if it was just a matchup issue. JMic is proving a lot of people wrong (me included).

Regardless of how the season ends, we were fortunate to have had Dylan and Ace. Terrific players and even better people.
if Dylan was healthy, we would definitely have at least 2-3 more wins and be in a better position.
I will enjoy the ride the rest of the year and hope for the best.

If we played D early on in the season, we would have 2-3 more wins. For some reason, the team thought they can just out score them like in the NBA.

Both are true :

We absolutely would have had a few more wins if Dylan stayed healthy

AND

We absolutely would have had a few more wins (eg kennesaw and Princeton at a minimum) had we played defense and attempted to rebound the ball earlier in the season

8:30 starting time a bit late when most games are 6:30, 7:00.
Latest home starting time all year.

Yeah but you also mentioned February and bad weather lol. The bad start times are the price you pay for a made-for-TV conference though I will admit it would seemingly make more sense to put the Michigan Oregon game on at 8:30 instead of 6:30 which was 3:30 PST.
