Best Case Scenario for Us

This is independent of whatever we do. Just giving us the most (logical) candidates to choose from:

Maryland --> D.J. Durkin
Georgia --> Tom Herman
South Carolina --> Kirby Smart
Miami --> Butch Davis
Missouri --> Barry Odom/Matt Wells
UCF --> Dino Babers
Virginia --> ??? (Haven't heard anyone connected to them)

We had one piece fall into place with USC promoting Helton. Had they gotten a big name (i.e. Richt), we get moved down a tier.

This leaves us with the realistic options of:

Greg Schiano
Mark Richt
Mario Cristobal
Al Golden
Etc.

Not saying I like all these guys but the point is this is the best case scenario for us in terms of giving us our "pick of the litter", so to speak.

That's silly. Even if you don't want him here (totally separate argument) it's hard to argue that Schiano at any east coast program that can recruit FL and NJ is anything close to good for us.

Or Miami. He realizes how much talent is at his doorstep if that happens. Golden was reaching into NJ his first couple of years there and that didn't sit well with the locals.

GS will always recruit NJ, but he won't need to nearly as much if he was at Miami. A school like Virg. would be a bigger problem.

It doesn't affect anything you say here really, but FYI Tom Herman said today he has an agreement in principle to stay at Houston and Babers said "I'm not going anywhere".

Doubt you'll see Babers, Fleck, and Herman sit tight...Richt will land at Miami or Maryland, if he lands at RU it would be a dream come true

Schiano lands at UVA or RU

Golden, Cristobal, Fleck underwhelming

Where does Durkin go if Maryland lands Richt?
