I. Coaching Moves:
- Wisconsin promotes Lamont Paris to Associate HC
- Van Macon becomes Ass't Coach at St Louis (congrats to Van on this move)
- Brandin Knight to RU as Ass't HC (Great addition for Rutgers)
- Nebraska hires Michael Lewis as Ass't Coach from Butler
II. Hello NBA (well maybe / and maybe not):
- Mich St Fr Devonta Davis hires an agent and officially declares (He'll probably go 1st round due to potential; but he's nowhere near ready. Should have honed his game 1 more year in college but who can blame him)
- Players who have declared but not yet hired an agent and were invited to NBA Combine: Nigel Hayes (Wisc); Troy Williams (Indiana); Caleb Swanigan (Purdue)
- Corey Sanders was not invited to NBA Combine and thus will be back with RU this year.
III. Gavitt Games:
Matchups officially announced and frankly there's only 2 games that I would look forward to watching:
- Rutgers at DePaul
- St Johns at Minnesota
- Wisconsin at Creighton
- Maryland at Georgetown (this is the game I'd watch)
- Providence at Ohio State
- Villanova at Purdue (should have been played last year - but good matchup nevertheless)
- Northwestern at Butler
- Seton Hall at Iowa
IV. Transferring Out / In:
- AJ Harris from Ohio State
- Devinn Davis (Indiana) to Houston
- Marvin Clark (MSU) to St Johns
- Kameron Chatman (Mich)
- Spike Albrecht (Mich) transfers to Purdue (think this was a graduate transfer....I like Spike)
- DJ Foreman (Rutgers) to St Louis (following Macon...will be interesting to see how Foreman hopefully further develops)
- Nebraska adds transfer James Palmer from Miami
- Michigan State adds transfer Ben Carter from UNLV (interesting that Izzo going the transfer route as of late)
- Penn State adds Transfer Satchel Pierce from Va Tech
V. OOC Games Scheduled:
- PSU to host Marist
- Doubleheader in Chicago: Illinois vs BYU and Northwestern vs Dayton. Nice double-bill.
- Minnesota and Arkansas announce home and home
- OSU will host FDU
- Annual game between Illinois and Missouri will occur on 12/21
- OSU to host UConn on 12/10 (that's a good game)
- Penn State and GW announce home and home
- PSU will play Pitt in tourney at Prudential Center (game like this should be scheduled every year at home court of schools on a rotational basis for fans' sake)
- Illinois to host SE Missouri State
