Biggest Needs....

You said a Gerbil could have scored in direct context to his TD run…weak and disrespectful in every way.
Was a statement about Howard, not about Gio. Not weak and not disrespectful at all.

And it's true. A gerbil could've totally outrun any Howard player on the field at that point. Have you ever seen a gerbil run?

You have no control over how well the team does (or very, very little at least).

So you have a choice. You can stop being a fan. You can remain a fan and make yourself miserable with impatience. Or you can remain a fan and just enjoy the process, tailgates, etc. the best you can.

Treat yourself to some hookers and blow. You'll feel lots better.
You can apply this life philosophy to yourself…enjoy.
I'll be teeing it up Saturday afternoons with my brothers.

You're delusional, I'm forced to fall back on the fact you never participated in athletics at a high level.

What can I say. I'm a happy guy and Rutgers football losing isn't going to change that.
Commendable…I can safely say I've never been a fan of any team, Rangers, Giants, Rutgers or Yankees or what ever team I was on, where I wasn't pissed off at loosing or stinking.
Different strokes for different folks.

So what you're saying is that your experience playing baseball gives you unique powers of observation which imbue you with absolute righteousness regarding the escapability, or lack thereof, of a gerbil. It's only 'cause I love you that I'm not going to start a diatribe about fat baseball players playing a sport with two minute rest periods between any actual physical action on the field.

Don't get me started. [winking]

We have fans who really don't grasp how bad we were by the end of the Flood fiasco. Last year our defense was 111th and the offense in the 80s. 111th! ANY improvement in the offense or defense in year one is a bonus since the coach is basically using the same personnel.

When I'm playing or coaching (in a real competition) I'm the worst loser you could imagine. I fake graciousness in defeat, I'm totally emotional and generally someone you'd hate to be around until the next opportunity to win.

When I'm a fan, it's not in my control and it's not about me at all. So I don't sweat it.

Even more delusion, I could put you in a competitive mens softball league and you'd get hurt and wouldn't be able to play

There is absolutely no excuse for downplaying Gios touchdown.. Obviously Oden and Laviano have a lot of family and friends posting on here.. Because every time Gio is brought up, the subject quickly changes back to them. Oden has has his chance, and I'm sorry, but he's just not that impressive. CL, I don't even have to explain.. So what is everyone's problem with Gio??

I probably would get hurt because I'd fall asleep between pitches.

I run an adult soccer game every Sunday morning. We play all year long, outdoors, in sleet, snow, rain - tropical storms, whatever. None of this wimpy rain-delay nonsense.

Wanna come out and play with us? We have a waiting list, but I can get you in for a game due to your celebrity status. We have a couple older players (one is from Siberia and plays in a t-shirt and shorts in 20 degree weather).

I know it's not as physically challenging as golf.

I have yet to see anybody on this board display any kind of problem with Gio at all. He hasn't played enough to warrant anybody having a problem with him. The only people that have seen him enough to form any kind of opinion about Gio at all are the current and former coaching staffs. And the coaches haven't put him in for more than a single play.

I guess you know better than two professional coaching staffs.

You wouldn't fall asleep, you don't know what you're talking about, you're clueless.
As for competing one on one with you, I'm 60, I'll play you in tennis, squash, racquetball, basketball, bowling, golf, paddle tennis or just plain bombardment and guarantee this fat ex baseball playing non athlete will defeat you, the one who can't stand loosing.
Oh I forgot, I was first team all state in three sports 5 times

Hey look buddy, obviously you're from Michigan and have some connection to Gio. No one on this board has any idea who the best QB is. And 99% on this board would root for the scarlet knight mascot if he could run on the field and complete a pass.

Watched both him and Morris play at De La Salle. He can pass, he can run. He showed that in a game. So ya, not sure why he's not playing. I root for all of the local athletes that deserve it.

Strange we do have two decent running backs, Martin and Hicks, that our OC doesnt feel a need to use to full potentional. First and goal from the 6 anyone?

I played softball for years for a company I used to work for. I'd catch up on reading between shagging flies in center field. Did some text messaging while racking up in-the-park home runs. As for the racquet sports, why not just suggest shuffleboard?

And bowling? Seriously? The shoes alone disqualify it from being a serious sport.

Get out of here with all these girlie-man sports. Come on down and play in our two hour, no subs, no halftime, no timeout game like a man. We have a couple guys over 60 including our Siberian player. You'll feel right at home.

Disgraceful that people are downplaying Gio's run. The kid committed three years ago, has done what he has been asked and not been a problem at all to my knowledge. He gets his first chance to do something and lights it up for a 42 yard TD. Should be all accolades. The kid had nice tapes of him running in HS and is our biggest QB. Don't understand how he has one super play and ridden the pines for five games. I like Oden too but he didn't run for a TD in a lot more opportunities against an even more tired Howard team. My concern about Oden is he runs like a four star recruit but was three star recruit, was it his passing that brought down his ranking?

1. A mature team
2. A coaching staff that can develop players
3. A quarterback, running back and wide receivers that are in sync.
4. Great special teams.

I agree 100%. And every time I post ANYTHING about Gio, they accuse me of being his mom. It's truly disgraceful. I just posted with questions about why Ash won't play him after that incredible run, and guess what??? The thread gets deleted and pushed into obscurity just like Gio. Doesn't make sense. If this board only wants to hear from people that agree with them, then this is a freaking waste of everyone's time and $$.

Honestly, right now our team is so starved of talent it wouldn't matter if Dan Marino was under center. I really thought that the B10 invite was going to cause a major uptick in recruiting, instead it actually got worse and a major step down as compared to when we were in the BE. We need two or three recruiting classes with four or five ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ recruits in almost every position. Finally, this University had a choice when Flood was fired, rip the wallet open and bring in a Rich Rodriguez type or go the safe route. So here we are discussing needs.

I couldn't agree more.. and could THIS Rutgers team #ashera do much better in the BE?

WELCOME TO THE BOARD DONALD TRUMP! (Consider yourself lucky- If I made that drug reference to Zappaa the moderators would have hard ons and Id probably already be banned. You could have said wanted you wanted except curse and you made a very poor drug reference (MAYBE if he had badly unfairly attacked you). Maybe I'm missing sarcasm from a personal acquaintance.

I gotta be honest. I don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about here.
