Bo melton tweet -Good News

Kid went to ND and they just lost to NCST so I'm sure he's buthurt. After losing to Duke too. This is ACC football, not basketball LOL.
Apparently his name is Bennett Jackson, not Barret. I never even heard of him until that tweet. Then again I guess if you want NJ people to know who you are you should probably play for NJ's team.

Top offensive and defensive players from Ohio St. and Mich lists NJ players. Top NJ players stay and play for Rutgers guess what happens? The traditional powers in the BIG are prioritizing the top talent from NJ. Ash is in the middle of a fertile recruiting ground and he know it's all about getting the top talent and he'll take it from there.

It all starts with this class folks.

GO RU

Bennet Jackson was an explosive collegiate player who made an impact in the NFL. If you don't know who he is you're not a big football fan, especially a local fan.

I'm a big football fan. What team does he play for? Admittedly I don't know NFL rosters anymore. Too much turnover to keep up with.

What are you talking about dude? What impact? He was drafted in 2014, spent that season on the practice squad, tore his acl in 2015 and got released this summer. His next NFL play will be his first. The guy is done.

I'm grateful that Bo is on board (but considering that he is a legacy, I wasn't really worried about him). I'm worried about getting some new 4 stars on for 2017 and 2018... We need more talent including linemen on both sides....

And sounds like it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Kicking Rutgers on social media when they are down. What a big man he is!

You guys are right; I must have been thinking of someone else, or Jackson's ND career. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong about something. That said, the most important part of this - how premier athletes from NJ generally view RU - was not inaccurate.

Apparently Bo Melton and Micah Clark don't feel that way. That might be the reason they are committed to Rutgers.

A legacy and a kid trying to get his brother into college. Ash is much better than Flood but slow down with the recruiting accolades.

Shhh...doesn't fit Nitboys narrative. Bottom line...he's getting players so far.

What narrative? RU has two verbals from NJ's top 10. One is bringing his bro, who otherwise would be going to Old Dominion, and the other is a legacy. #facts.

Ash is an improvement from Flood. He is not a miracle worker.

So only Top 10 players as listed by Rivals can play? 'Fvck outta here...

Of course not. But when you're trying to sell people on the idea that Ash is changing the culture no one cares about the 27th ranked kid in the state, especially when NJ in general has been down the past couple of years. Don't be so dense.

According to 24/7, Rutgers has commits from 8 of the top 25. I think most here care a lot about them and any other top 50 player in NJ who commits.

"No one cares about the 27th ranked kid in the state". Classy. Is that penis head's recruiting approach? We need players. Lots of them. We have 2 in NJ's top 10 and 2 more who arguably could be (Lewis and Tverdov). Not worried at all about the direction we are going in at the moment.

Look, two big NJ recruiting classes and this ship gets righted.
Simple as that, bring in top talent, win B1G games.
I mostly agree. Only I think it's more like four or five consecutive big recruiting classes from anywhere we can get recruits and the ship gets righted. We need lots of depth to compete in the Big Ten.

IMO, we need to be two-to-three players deep at every position w/players as impactful as Grant. Then we can compete with the big ten elite. And that takes both a consecutive string of good recruiting classes, combined with players that get several years of great positional coaching, combined with several years of great strength and conditioning training, combined with some luck.

No shortcuts.

I realize we are in the era of "everybody gets a trophy," but c'mon, if you're not winning among the elite recruits, you're not winning on the field. I'm sure the 27th-ranked kid is loved dearly by his friends and family, and would be welcomed by the alumni at any school he commits to. But in terms of winning games, he's not very important.

Melton and Clark are top 10. Tverdov and Lewis are arguably top 10 depending who you ask. That's 4 elite players. Then you have kids like Bowles, Taylor and Watts who would play at most big ten schools including PSU. We are doing fine, thank you.

I agree that we need to land top talent to win. That is not debateable. However, to say the 27th ranked player is not very important is ridiculous. There have been many many guys that have made huge impacts in college ranked in the NJ 20's and gone on to pro careers. Of course it is less likely but to say they are not important is not accurate. Particularly for me the guys that our moderators rank higher like Watts and Tverdov.
