BREAKING -- Rutgers transfer Jeremiah Williams has won his court case and will be eligible to make his debut with the Scarlet Knights on Saturday

Looking forward to seeing how this kid looks as PG.

Dylan does NOT play PG for Bosco. Last night, my boys were shooting around after their trainer session with the younger brother of dylan’s teammate from the Bosco team. We were chatting with the dad and we asked him straight up. Does Dylan usually run the point? He confirmed that Dylan is asked to be the scorer and Isiah Brown (number zero) typically plays PG. Gave a line about positionless basketball and said Dylan he heard that’s the plan for college. But the point is - This is a father who watches every game - not just a few of us observing 20 mins of the Ramapo game. He’s currently not being asked to run the offense. He’s being asked to score.

That’s a very big adjustment. Green and others are talking about the adjustment on D. I’m less concerned there - I think Pike will make Ace and Dylan at least servicable quickly on that end. I’m not convinced that Dylan can become a point overnight when he’s not one now and lead us to great things. I’m hoping he doesn’t have to be. I know I sound like a broken record but Davidson 08-09 is my exhibit A. Curry couldn’t even bring home a Southern league title when thrown into the PG role…. I think we will need someone to focus on distributing while Ace and Dylan put the ball in the basket to be a really good team. Hoping J William’s can be that guy.

If we win out with Jeremiah we’re in!!!

Very much a B1G caliber athlete and player....the backcourt nonsense has to account for both ends of the court, we get a player who can actually play with Gavin/Hyatt, Davis and Simpson and mix that with Cliff, give us rebounding and someone who can attack off the dribble.

All I care about is that he shows he can be counted on as being an integral piece of next year’s team. We need peices.

I would send JW to the glass to get offensive rebounds. Like a hockey team without snipers…just shoot and concentrate on getting the rebound. AWill already does this well. All five to the glass.
This game is basically an elimination game from any chance at an at-large bid for both teams.

I believe Michigan could still get to 21 wins if they lose in the BigTen tourney final. That’s a bubblelicious record and they would be the hottest team in America.

Pike needs to understand Dylan and Ace DO NOT need to become lockdown defenders. They should be able to outshoot/score anyone they go up against.

Lock down - no. That doesn’t happen in one year. Caleb wasn’t even a lock down defender as a frosh. There will be some growing pains but I expect them to come in closer to Simpson and JMike than Gavin on that end having watched a few games now.

As for outshooting / scoring anyone routinely I think your setting unrealistic expectations there - especially if we don’t have someone else as PG facilitating and Harper is also adjusting to being a primary college PG. Remember - what they are doing in high school is most often against teams with only a handful of D1-D2 bound players at most. Suddenly they will be playing against 3-4 year major conference veterans. They will get theirs but if your expecting 20+ ppg averages from both of them I’d put the odds pretty high you’ll be wrong.

We aren’t talking top 100 players, we’re talking top 3. Players at this level put up points at Duke and Kentucky who we beat out, why can’t we?
