CHICAGO – Coming off a season in which two Big Ten teams reached the Final Four and Wisconsin advanced to the National Championship Game, BTN’s 2015-16 men’s basketball schedule will feature more than 75 conference matchups. The slate includes five Big Ten Tournament games and nine straight weeks of “Super Wednesday” doubleheaders.

Penn State at RAC will be fun. I am sure they will want to avenge their football loss coming up this weekend.

I just noticed the same thing about the conference opener. I don't understand why they keep scheduling it on a weekday afternoon. If it was on the 31st it would be more understandable. A New Year's Eve with Rutgers Basketball and College Football playoffs would be a great day.

It looks like we didn't get stuck with too many Sunday night games- that's a good thing. Really hated those 5, 6 and 7 start times on Sundays.

The Big10 has their own version of a conference play kick off day where games are scheduled all day long starting at noon or something like that. I believe all games are covered by the BTN.

Only complaint is that for the second straight year the conference opener is on a weekday afternoon.

1 p.m. on Wed. Dec. 30?
C'mon - most of us have to work.

While some probably have to work...I think "most" fans/alumni are off the Week of Christmas/New Years.

I work in New Brunswick, so even if I have to work, I'll try to get over there. Long lunch!

I'd strongly disagree with that? Unless you work in a school, what business is going to close down for an entire week?

I don't know. I remember thinking that absolutely no one would be there last year. I wound up having a slow day at work, so I said F it and went down, mainly hoping to get an Eddie Jordan bobblehead, and was amazed to find the place relatively full.

Yeah it was pretty full and more Northwestern fans than I expected. I guess people were looking for something to do. I remember being ticked that Henry's Diner wasn't open. If you were going to open at all over break, that would be the day you may want to be open.

From a TV perspective, it is nice that the game on November 21 vs Central Arkansas is at 5 PM. Football is at Army the same day at noon. But it is unfortunate that fans will not be able to attend both events if they wanted to do so.

I'm guessing that 6 PM weeknight game is part of a doubleheader on BTN.

Local shill

I am in manufacturing....and a lot...and I mean a lot ....of manufafturing in North America and Europe closes the entire
Week around Christmas

We are in the big 10....a lot higher percentage of big ten country is in manufacturing and farming or businesses that serve it...so a lot more of the populace in other big ten states are closed as opposed to New Jersey
(This is part of reason why they travel so well for bowls...much higher percentage are already off)
