If true, some on here have serious egg on their face. And I'm not surprised as they think they know all, act like they know all but in the end they are just cellar dwellers. Complete idiots.

So how does this rationalize with it’s already Schiano or are these suppose to be sham interviews.

In case it’s not already completely obvious, an athletic department that never leaks, was just forced to leak because of that ridiculous cabal coup conspiracy thread.
Until a deal is signed, we’d be remiss in not interviewing, no?
Also, someone should probably let Butch Jones know that Hobbs is gone and Schiano has already signed a contract.
Makes perfect sense, if they just hand the job to Schiano you will have some people screaming that they didn't conduct a legitimate coaching search. By interviewing Jones and another few candidates they can shut the detractors and media up when the introduce Greg as the next HC. Who knows, maybe they are paying Jones a few bucks for this interview charade.
So what contract did Schiano sign???

Maybe Schiano is the AD and Jones a potential coach.
Butch is an intense competitor on the field and friendly personality off. He'd come in and embrace the nuances and traditions of RU instead of crapping all over us like Ash. Would do well recruiting too.
It feels more like this is Pat trying to do his thing in the face of the top-tier guys doing their thing. Yeah, it would make sense to interview other candidates, but the question I would LOVE an answer to is "Did Jeff Towers (for instance) know about this interview beforehand?"

For me personally I don't have any qualms about it, long time frequent posters coming here with good intentions of sharing what they heard is fine with me be it wrong or right. Besides who doesn't like gossip or what not...this is just the male form of it lol.
So if it comes true fine and if it doesn't fine. If the intent is just to share what they heard from people they feel are reliable who am I to say shame on you you're wrong. I'm more thanks for sharing I appreciate it and leave it at that whether it comes true or not. I can make my own call on what I think might be happening or not.
BTW as I was saying about leaks to the media in the other thread and using the Cincy AD to USC leaked this morning for a Monday announcement as an example...this Jones thing seems more in line with that than so much detail going on and so many people in on it but somehow it slips by the media and their sources. Schiano may get hired eventually but I always question whether it's a done deal until it's actually done and announced by the school or leaked to the media....I mean even the Cristobal hiring which was leaked to the media didn't happen. I've always thought the week after the season is when an announcement would be made be it Schiano or whomever but I guess we'll see.
I can still hold out a sliver of hope for Littrell, if Norvell and similar are unrealistic. :Wink:

Im not sure how Jones would feel about taking a coordinator job at a school like RU after being HC at a big time school... But I am confident then when Schiano is hired, McNulty will be back, as awkward as that will be for Roy Hobbs.
