Calling our fans out - some of you are terrible

1984, Thank you for the kind words and wishes. I am feeling fine at this time and just take one day at a time. I really want to see RU make the NCAA again and I hope that is not that many years away. I love going to the games.

Would have loved to go to game but was stuck at a wedding in Pennsylvania and did not even have Big Ten Network.

Same state plus smaller arena and no hockey game bringing extra MSU fans...plus 3 big time Philly recruits are frosh
Either Penn State or Michigan moved their home game to MSG last year as well. I believe Maryland might be doing it next year for this event.

Went to my 8 year old grandson's game (lost 13-10).Grandson was 2-2 from the foul line. Did go to RUs first game in the Garden this year.

Oh geeze with the "same state" stuff lol...I think you realize how far their campus is from The Palestra, right? And we don't recruit NYC? You lose on 2 of 4 points here my friend. Wait...did the hockey tickets come with basketball tickets as well?

Badger fan and sorry to be a bit late to the thread here. I live in MN and made the trip for the hoops game (and ended up at the hockey game, too, when my wife and I didn't win the Hamilton lottery). We most likely would not have gone if it would've been at the RAC, so I think most of the hand-wringing about drawing more Badger fans to the game than there otherwise would be is justified.

That being said, MSG isn't very far away for you guys, and the train takes you literally right to the arena. If Wisconsin gave up a home game to play RU at, say, the United Center in Chicago, which is 2.5 hours away from campus, a ton of Badger fans would be there. Now, this wouldn't happen because Chicago is already a Big Ten town, and I get that UW's more successful and therefore has a large following.

I think the league's hope in bringing RU into the B1G was to add the NYC market to the league's footprint. Based on last Saturday, it appears to me there's a long way to go in that regard, and if that's the case (and I recognize these next words might make me unpopular on this board), there isn't much value that RU brings to the brand of the conference. I don't know what the terms of the deal to bring RU to the conference were, but if the league has an out clause, I'd be worried they might exercise it.

That would be fair, if it were true....

However, Delany has chosen (along with the rest of the conference), to choke down any relevant revenue stream that would make RU more competitive financially, and then ask RU to suddenly fill arenas and hire coaches that can allow that type of competitive balance.

In the NFL example, whether it was right or not, when the league expanded and added Carolina and Jacksonville, they immediately gave both franchises a free reign to sign as many free agents as they could and added draft picks to their coffers....teams were able to sign QB's like Mark Brunell, who would have never gotten a chance to get off the Packers bench, if Jacksonville wasn't an option for him to show he could play.

RU is really only a fair and balanced revenue stream that would allow them to truly compete. If RU was treated in a more equal fashion (we don't get a full share for another 4-5 years), then we can talk about lack of support. Let us hire an existing winning football coach and free up the revenue and we may not have to take fliers on coaches in basketball (Eddie Jordan), which sets the program back.

It's not about selling tickets at MSG for a regular season basketball game. It was mainly about establishing BTN in the NY television market which adding Rutgers helped accomplish immediately. Beyond the revenue this now provides more exposure for all Big Ten schools which helps individual school brands and recruiting.

This is what I've been saying since the beginning. We took a raw deal and it's forever to get paid and then who knows how long to catch up. It's a nightmare.

Good, exercise the out clause. Not worried badger douche. I would be much happier if we were FCS. We get invited to a conference and then get treated like shit. And we're supposed to be happy to be there. F you all.
