We were just about to make the ncaa for the first time in 37 years , March of 2022, pike turned the corner with a roster of juniors and sophs and signed his first top 50 recruit in cliff Onuryi

Covid hits

Since then

Class of 2021 (should be seniors)
Jaden Jones
Jalen miller

Class of 2022 (should be juniors )
Derek simpson
Antoine Wolfolk

Class of 2023
Gavin Griffths
JaMichael Davis

One role player in 6 years ….and I don’t know now you only give out 6 scholarships in three years

Reallty is…we have gotten nothing from recruting for three years to go with the highly ranked class of 2024

Our current roster issues start from having nothing from recruiting for three years ….

We went 6 years without recruiting a complete guard in between geo/Jacob and Dylan

And it shows the last few years ….

All true

Partly that, but also partly losses of guys we did bring in.

2023-24: Lost Mulcahy and Spencer, who would have had positive impact on our fortunes had they stayed and might have resulted in a tourney bid.

2024-25: Lost Omoruyi, Mag, Simpson, Woolfolk, and Griffiths. Omoruyi at the very least would have helped us a ton this season - and hard to think Mag/Simpson wouldn't have been a help defensively.

If you aren't bringing in "immediate impact" guys, you need to retain your developing projects.

Program desperately needs a General Manager for which player evaluation is essential.

As Shack highlighted - past few years of recruiting have been awful as has been the portal - sans Cam Spencer.
Yesssss.... I've said this a few times too. It is essential IMO especially since Pike isnt going anywhere

And boy, did he misuse him.

In this article released today, Pisarri stated the men's basketball program is preparing to hire a general manager who can help handle the job of creating and allocating resources.

Pike found a good 4 in Ndongo, but lost him to GT. He would be helping on this team right now.
Because Karl Hobbs, NDongo's recruiter, moved to Georgia Tech, a parallel move to take the same title and role as he had with Pikiell. Tough outcome, not much Pikiell could do, I suppose.
