Can this team still make the NCAA's? Well...

RU has a horrendous rpi right now...167...worst in the conference due to its abhorrent non conference schedule, even with playing MSU 2x, Purdue, Minny, and Wisky has not helped the rpi budge much

We are #112 in kenpom. On this date last year we lost at home to Northwestern dropping us to #137 in kenpom. We finished the year at 135.

I get the knocks on kenpom, but to me it is a decent gauge of progress. Let's get the number to double digits by the end of the year.

If Corey Sanders plays to his best ability for 4 nights (hopefully instead of 5) at MSG, like Kemba did that famous week, we can absolutely do it.

I think too many fans are still day dreaming. Many were talking NCAA and than reality set in with Stony Brook, Hartford & Purdue. We than beat Wisconsin by 4 and lost to Michigan State by 4 in OT on the road. It is nice to think we could make the NCAA but it is not being realistic. Many on here might be setting themselves up for a major disappointment. Myself I am a huge fan since 1971 but at this point I first want to finally see 16 or more wins for a winning season. Rome was not built in a day. We should only be looking ahead to Sunday night vs Ohio State. One game at a time.

Wow. Just wow.

We lose to Stony Brook and there are fringe people saying Pikiell is overrated and won't get it done.

We almost beat Michigan State and there are fringe people talking NCAA, with NIT as a stepping stone.

We are not going to the NCAA. We are not going to the NIT. I hope we don't go to the CBI. I want us to be a very tough out for somebody in the Big Ten Tournament, which will end our season with a winning record.

A team that beats Seton Hall, loses to those two, gets blasted by Purdue and almost wins at Michigan State is not going to play consistently for however many games it will take to win the conference tournament.

Can't we be happy with our winning record? Can't we be happy hearing people say how much better we look and that good things are on the way?

I can.

All I want is to feel RU MBB improved enough under Pike
to think the NCAA tourney isn't that far off.
Just not this year and next years team will be closer to obtaining a bid.

Well I expect to WIN games so if we do that don’t we go to that tournament mania thing? Anyway just keep winning ! 1 at a time

The only somewhat realistic goal is a winning season and that will require some upset wins.Talk about the NCAA is absurd after losses to Stony Brook and Hartford.

It’s not something I believed was doable even with two more wins. You need over 20 to be considered and more with our Schedule. We will be in position to get there from 2019. Make the NIT as a first goal

Isn't that the best part about sports though? Some fans of a team think it's ridiculous to have ever thinked of this team as a possible NCAA team. Then there are other fans who always thought there was a chance. That's what you have to love about college basketball. A large group of otherwise intelligent individuals have such drastically varying views of the same situation. And get very mad and passionate when their view is questioned.

The bottom line is Rutgers basketball is fun again. Truly is. It’s been a long time

And it’s Gojng to get better

Really hoping for 17-14
