Caroo's accuser speaks to Bergen Record:

They aren't defending Carroo?? What? That's exactly what they are doing by condemning the accuser!

You're pretty naive about how all this litigation stuff works. Everybody has self interest that bends perspective -- the Plaintiff, the Defendants, everyone -- and because of that you really shouldn't be drawing factual conclusions until you hear both sides of the story, and then determine what the unbiased independent evidence supports.

Football Operations reports to the AD. I'm surprised that there is not more Security outside the Hale Center after games.

It sounds like the victim was ambushed by Caroo's posse after the game. I don't know how word of a disturbance was passed on to Caroo's inside the Hale Center giving him enough time to come outside and get involved in the scuffle.

If you think this person was "ambushed" then let's just say I'm glad you're not a judge or cop.

so I clicked on the Comcast front page story about Flood and it goes on to talk about the Carroo situation and of course it chooses to say he 'Body Slammed" the girl... THAT is the problem with the media.

This was the last thing Rutgers needed after the 5 arrests. What's sad is that a young lady was injured and LC may have destroyed his career. Senseless behavior.

The young woman was attacked by at least one other woman and then, at minimum, grabbed and shoved by a large guy, LC. This must have been very traumatic for her and I'm willing to look past some possible inconsistencies in her story. It would be very difficult under those circumstances to rememberer everything exactly as it occurred.

As for LC, it appears that he overreacted but he was under stress and was probably trying to do what he thought was right. I doubt that many men who don't have tactical training would respond perfectly if they saw their girlfriend(s) invoved in a physical confrontation. I'm sure that I wouldn't.

So you're saying that the victim attacked the Caroo posse and thats what started the scuffle ?
The Carroo Posse. haha. Maybe Carroo lifted the girl over his head, twirled around three or four times and then dropped her right on top of his other girl friend.

I really wish we would see the end of threads debating whether the victim was "slammed," "dropped," etc. If she went to the hospital there will likely be documentation and/or photos of her injuries (possibly). The truth will come out through the legal process. In the meantime, many on this board are embarrassing themselves ala Penn State apologists in a desperate attempt to make excuses for this incident.

In all seriousness how come we are not hearing of any other people being arrested? Surely there were more people involved than two girls and a guy. Did the girl only press charges against Carroo and not the other girl?

A football player because of their size and strength needs to be held to a different standard in a physical altercation. In my opinion.
Well that's a silly opinion. He is listed at 6'1 and 215. Should everyone that size be more accountable for their actions or are shorter people less accountable?

There should be one standard (hence the name) that we are all held to.

it's not just the "apologists" embarrassing themselves--it's everyone else--people form opinions about what they read or "want" to believe--without ANY real evidence--they are a also a joke

And all that after the head coach asked for a quiet night because of all the recent controversy surrounding the team.

Carlo as very bad taste in females. Bitches from da hood, not young ladies. If they wanna fight over you, let them then move on. Find a new girl friend with some class.

Obviously Caroo's new girlfriend is a big part of what happened. If Caroo got word that something was happening outside it was probably because she called him and told him to come outside. I don't know what man wouldn't come outside in that scenario. The whole thing is hard to process, and the timeline and series of events given by the victim don't make sense to me. There is a lot more to the story, and we are not at the bottom of it. The whole thing is starting to sound ridiculous. She got hit by a cone?

The football program needs to teach these players how to pick out non-crazy girlfriends.

What a good post! Why not add racism and classism with your sexism? Pull out all the stops. A real Rutgers man!

You are correct, this smells exactly of the pre story to set up for a lawsuit. She will go after the deepest pockets. She has several institutions and agencies to which she can sue. Rutgers, The Rutgers police, Piscataway Police, State Police, Kyle Flood, Carroo, Various emergency services on scene. It will be a feeding frenzy but some of those agencies will be dropped. The bottom line is she will get a Big payday for this.

I think everyone is getting out of hand putting out blame before the facts are presented. I have done Grand Jury before and have heard cases similar to this. Both sides tell police something different, a video is shown and the story has half truths on both sides.

I agree, regardless of whether it is true or not, I would not have spoken to the media about it if I were the witness. She can only be trying to get something out of it, either trying to win the court of public opinion, which can be reactionary, or trying to preemptively strike against the defense. She most likely knows that the situation can be viewed as someone didn't know their own strength, so attempts to debunk that theory publically, saying that he "knows his own strength"

I would be shocked to find out that the truth is that Leonte Carroo picked up a girl and "slammed" her into the concrete. It just makes 0 sense at all. I could however see Leonte peeling the girl away with too much force, turning her away from the girl fight and letting her go, at which point she falls to the ground. THAT makes sense.

Did the group plan to attack the girl?I have a hard time believing that this was spontaneous.Carroo probably knew nothing in advance, but should have stayed inside.

*Standard is null and void if the secondary party is a significantly weaker male because they should know better than getting into fights with bigger people.
FTFY. Screw personal responsibility, women should be free from any legal repercussions!

Funny. His instagram photos some time ago (before made private) would suggest otherwise. Nice try though.

So calling the accuser a liar is fine? My word some of you are just crazy. So do all of you think he didn't touch the girl at all? In your mind was he even there?
I would guess that, if asked, most people would say that Carroo should have stayed inside the Hale Center and avoided the whole thing. At best, he showed impulsive behavior and acted precipitously. He's going to be paying for that flawed decision-making regardless of the how the prosecution of his case works out.

As to what actually happened after he left the building to the time he was arrested, I don't know. And I don't really need to know. It's being dealt with. My involvement is not necessary. My opinion as to what might happened is irrelevant.

I'm not about to believe (a) the media, (b) the police, (c) people reporting what they heard second-hand, (d) just about anybody else that wasn't there witnessing the whole thing from a clear and unbiased perspective. If those things weren't inherently flawed insofar as conveying "the truth" of things, then we might as well toss away our entirely legal system.

What I don't get is, what's the rush to form a judgement? Does being the earliest, loudest, most aggressive, most outraged judge of something make people feel good? I would think it would have the opposite effect and make people feel even worse.

Just another obvious question....
What were all if the other people who apparently witnessed this doing to help stop this ugly situation both before and after Leonte arrived on the scene. I guess they were all enjoying two women in a cat fight? And as I've asked before ...who let Leonte out of the lockerroom alone and was anyone of his teammates or friends on the scene to try and stop him? Some obvious things don't add up and I am sure his attorney will be and has been asking the same questions to try and determine what happened and to prepare a strong defense.....right or wrong.

There is no question what Leonte did was out of order. But how could this happen and why with all of the people involved etc both before and after the alleged altercation did it evolve.

Who condemned the accuser? Most, are pointing out there are questions to be answered and want to see all the facts from witnesses come out. LC Caroo may or may not have "slammed" her to the ground. I haven't heard anybody say LC is completely innocent, far from it, most are condemning him for going outside. So far the facts are confusing. She says she was dropped, they may or may not be slamming. We just don't know.

There are always two sides to every story in a situation like this.

I know that when my many girlfriends, super-models all, fight over me, I wade in with my pistol and start busting caps in their asses.

Having had a friend get dragged through the mud for a year due to a false rape accusation (perp finally admitted to faking the rape so she wouldn't have to tell her boyfriend she cheated on him), indeed, I have come to realize there are always two sides to every story.

Wow all of this unsubstantiated commentary. Me? I blame aliens for all of these problems, Bigfoot may have had a hand in it too, the Lochness Monster was unavailable for comment.

Who does football operations report into? HFKC or the AD's office? Because a student employee was injured by a student athlete on Rutgers property administered by someone in athletics.

There's no way to spin that.

That sounds like a big fat lawsuit and that's why she went public to get the story out there.

Why didn't she file an assault charge against the female acquaintance of Carroo who was hittig her with a traffic cone?

Can't agree with you here buddy:

- 1st off where does it say that she was dropped from 10" off the ground? I don't see it anywhere but, if the case, then...

- ...EVEN IF he "only" dropped her from 10" off the ground: she's 107 lbs at 5'5". That's THIN my man, trust me, i know. My ex is about 5'3", maybe, and 112lbs, with what she calls "Irish arms" (even though she recently found out she's actually 3/8th Scottish and 1/8th Irish, something I had told her might be the case all along, but that's another story lol...). If I dropped her sideways onto the sidewalk, even from just 10" off the ground, she'd be in HELL OF A LOT of pain if her head smacked into said sidewalk.

Sorry, can't agree here, no way.

Agreed with Nuts. My wife is 5'7", 115lb...she'd be in for a world of hurting if dropped like that.

There is your answer.

Seems the GF is following Warren Sapp and Cris Carter's advice. Were there an other arrests for the incident?

You are not the first to ask this question. Why is it no other person involved in the altercation was charged with anything?

Carro must have the longest freak-like arms in history
if he could lift her to ten feet and then slam her to the ground

Which is it....10 inches from the ground or 10 feet from the ground? Even if 10 inches, How much hurt would be caused if someone is dropped 10 inches? That's the vertical length of a legal size piece of paper. A 10 year kid would not be hurt by that.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned... And slammed to the ground... And hit with a traffic cone... And had her hair ripped out.

That she is talking to the press doesn't appear to be a good sign for Carroo.

LC should not have gone out of the hale Center. It was interesting to learn in the story that he and the victim were friends in high school and met on the track team which I assume was at Bosco. This was covered in the Record on Northjersey.com but not in the NJ.com story that quoted much of the original info from the Record.

I find it strange that the current girlfriend, who may have stated the fight, did not get arrested.

Bosco is all boys school
