Caroo's accuser speaks to Bergen Record:

Pathetic that posters are actually defending Carroo or slandering the victim........shame on you.......you NEVER hit a woman unless your life is threatened and have these "student athletes" learned anything from Ray Rice and/or the prior criminal incidents.....unreal.....

If history has taught us anything, it's that it has taught us nothing.

Steve, thanks for you professional and experienced input. I am amazed so many have formed solid opinions on what happened based on one woman's statement, apparently an ex gf. I'll wait for a witness without any connections to the participants to make a statement and then form an opinion. Surprised there is not video.

Caroo, as a captain of the team, if not as a person, failed 3 times in recent weeks.

1- broke curfew right before first game. Bad Example for the team.

2- was told not to leave the locker room and get involved in the fight. He disregarded them.

3- moronically, physically became involved in the fight.

In 2 weeks he ruined 7 years of building his reputation as a football player and person.
.......I agree on all three......

Agree, no way anyone should be taking only one version as fact. Really need the authorities to complete the investigation quickly. Carroo pleaded not guilty, and if he is in fact innocent he needs to get back on the field, not only for RU but for his future. I'm also surprised there's no video yet.

So calling the accuser a liar is fine? My word some of you are just crazy. So do all of you think he didn't touch the girl at all? In your mind was he even there?

Remember, RU most likely had Univ employees (maybe from Athletics, Police, Security, etc...) and possibly video of the alleged incident...so its not surprising that Caroo was kicked off the team.

I'm sure RU is not just going off the victim's statement...as RU most likely has other witnesses and/or video that back up their decision to dismiss Caroo from the team.

Now...that doesn't mean Caroo will be found guilty in the court of law...but RU saw enough (and/or had in the past) to decide to get rid of Caroo, especially considering his past, let alone how Caroo was told to stay inside the building and not intervene in this situation.

Flood (and/or those above him) seem to be trying to make a tougher stance as in-program punishment (i.e. missing a half a game for certain infractions) does not seem to be severe enough to change behavior of many on the team so more severe action/punishment must be taken for almost any incident involving a player on the team, especially for this season.

Did Flood have any witness info &/or video for review when he suspended Carroo? Flood's decision came down very quickly. If he did have convincing evidence against Carroo I'd have to think more would have come out by now.

Agreed with Nuts. My wife is 5'7", 115lb...she'd be in for a world of hurting if dropped like that.
so if you wife is dropped 10 inches in height she will be hurt- the length of a woman shoe. Respectfully I will disagree, I have seen 90+ year olds at my wife's job and be fine. She should have landed on her feet and even if she lost her balance how serious are the injuries.

He already had/knew about Caroo's past...and heand the pubic knew very shortly after the incident that someone (most likely someone from RU Athletics) told Caroo to just stay inside till things calmed down..which he obviously didn't do.

Even just putting a hand on a woman in today's world, with plenty of witnesses...and if he was shoved/pushed/fell down after contact...in the state of RU's program of the last 2-3 weeks, that's a death sentence (i.e. kicked out of the program).

If NONE of the actions from the last 3 weeks had occurred, Caroo probably would have just been suspended.

This is why we do not have trials of public opinion and instead have trials of facts. This will all come out in the trial in a court of law. Us speculating on what happened from news articles, The accusers brief interview and even people adding their own 2 cents are not facts, they are speculations. Even what the accuser in the interview has to viewed with suspicion because she has the big payday MO.
Unfortuantely for Carroo this is going to take a long time to play out in the courts and the season will be over before it is done. Too bad for a guy with such a promising NFL career ahead of him.

I sure hope this wasn't the basis for Coach "we told you not to talk to the prof and you did it anyway?" Flood's decision. (and I am sure it isn't but just found this part funny..well not really)

And most college coaches in all sports routinely suspended/kick out of programs players that break team/program rules...let alone deal with crimes.

Caroo not obeying a required act to stay inside the Center directly lead to this situation...and if he put his hand on the victim (let alone any type of actual assault seen by others), he was gone...especially in this environment.

In the courts, the victim could feel pressure to change her story (sadly, like too many other victims) and/or his attorney pleads down to a lesser misdemeanor and/or charges just go away...but that legal action has nothing to do with what actually happened that many others probably saw take place.

....or the victim could be embellishing her interview for a .big payday. That is why us speculating is not going to change one damn thing. Lets wait until the facts are out before we make judgements.

I'd love to see Video of this. Doesn't add up. Gang of girls (crew) attacks one single 107 pound female. Carroo isn't part of any of this. A bunch of time goes by. someone tells him that his gf and ex side slice are going at it in the parking lot. He goes outside and bodyslams the 107 pound single person being attacked by a "crew" of people? It's just odd. Not defending him, just trying to piece it together because this just doesn't make any sense.

Unless the "crew" was just watching and the two girls were just going at it like you see in those youtube girl fight videos. I mean like vicious fighting and if Caroo's GF was losing the fight I could see him picking up the ex gf and getting her off his gf which could have led to him slamming her to the ground.

I wonder if it was the later if I would have done the same thing in the heat of the moment. Fights are a weird thing and you just react a lot of times.

What it boils down to is he put his hands on an ex lover and threw her to the ground…don't do that.

I wouldn't agree with that. If my ex lover was beating the hell out of my current girlfriend I"m sure as heck laying my hands on her and ripping her off of my girlfriend. We have zero insight or facts into what led to him "slamming" her or "dropping" her to the ground. If she was laying an ass whopping in vicious girl fight style on my girfriend i'm doing what I need to do protect my girlfriend.

I have no idea if it went down that way but i can't blanket say you "don't do that". You protect the ones you care about.
