Celebrities you saw at Rutgers games

Brandon Jacobs and Amad Bradshaw at North Carolina game
Adam Duritz was at a Cincy Game

Phil was given a huge area in the front of the yellow lot. It was roped off to reserve for his group. At least his kid got in the game. Too bad he was quickly shalacked by the defense (Ryan Neil? I forget).

Adam Duritz also made it to football and women's basketball games.

I believe it was the 2008 shellacking we gave them so it wouldn't have been Neil. I loved Phil as the Giants QB but not should if there is a more pompous, untouchable, spoiled, almost criminal family in NJ. It's why that image was so classic and enjoyable.

Chris Simms (Texas) not Matt. His Frosh yr. Major Applewhyte was the starter; Simms came in at the end and was throwing even though they were winning 50-0 or something. I'm pretty sure Raheem Orr and Ryan Neil sacked him on consecutive plays to end the game. Gave us something to cheer about.
The Texas game was in 1999 under Shea. Ryan Neil and Raheem Orr were not at Rutgers yet. The player who sacked Simms was Wayne Hampton. I met Bill Cosby in 1998 walking into the Stadium as he was there to cheer Temple.

Matt Simms would've been a perfect Rutgers QB.

The Simms family was always just too awesome for Rutgers.
Nope I knew I was right.
According to the University of Tennessee Athletics site Matt Simms attended the University of Louisville in 2008 and played in two games.
We beat them on 12/4/08 at RU 63-14 and despite the blowout he did not play.

Should be forever remembered as the "Ron English Throwdown Game" due to the fact that ol Ron wanted to fist fight the Rutgers staff at midfield as the teams walked in for halftime because we were apparently running it up and embarrassing 'Ville.

Guess he wasn't on their staff in '05 for the supposed bird stomping incident.

I remember that game was a total non-competitive blowout but there are only a handful of games I've enjoyed more because I remember how bitter I was in '05.

Saw Phil Rizzuto back in the 70s (I think) when we played Cornell. His daughter was dating Ed Marinaro.

Got a picture with Billie Jean King a few weeks ago.

Saw Bill Laimbeer at a WBB game in Michigan.

Jenn Sterger at the 2007 USF game

Jenn Sterger qualifies as a Celebrity ? Yikes.

Todd Frazier and some of his Toms River LL buddies sat in front of us at the RAC years ago. Great guy and fun to be around. I didn't know who he was until the PA guy announced him and he stood up to a cheering crowd at the RAC. Saw him again a few years ago at the RAC and got a photo opp with him.

Anybody who sits near me can say they saw one. :sunglasses:

How did this thread go 2 pages and this one was not used yet. LOL

MrsScrew, RU4Real, Hudson, dtn, Piscataway, Mr. and Mrs Leonard, Brian and Nate, Manny Collins, about half of the team honored at halftime this year (2006?), Sleepi, herdof3, Huskers, and more... but not zappa yet.

They filmed an episode of Rachel Ray's cooking show at one of the tailgates but I didn't see her. Once again Rutgers gave them prime tailgating spot in yellow. Grrr.

YES, also I saw and harassed Bill Cosby at a Rutgers-Temple game back at Giants Stadium in the 80's. He had just filmed that disasterous game show "You bet Your Life".
My seats at Giants Stadum fro RU games from 1979-~1989 were 2nd row on the 47 behind the visitors bench so we got to see and harass lots.

As he walked away I yelled to Cosby "Don't Bet Your Life on Temple!" Of course RU won...

I once also almost plucked the features off the Temple owl at the RAC in the 80's...

As good as her cooking is her food wouldn't be the thing I'd be thinking about eating if I saw her at a tailgate!

I always say Ray would be the perfect wife. You'd have fansastic sex with her and then she'd proceed to make you an incredible meal! What else can you want?

This post... I feel like you are someone who would truly understand me. Thanks for being on my wavelength.

Tex Cobb used to stand on the Temple sidelines for quite a few games, one of them being the monsoon game.

Why doesn't the administration try to get Bruce to show up to stuff? Seems like having the most prominent new jerseyan take a picture with our team wearing Rutgers gear would be a great piece of marketing.

Victor Cruz was at a basketball game
Sat right next to me at the second game he attended. Was pretty cool, checking his phone much of the time and hanging with his three buddies and laughing. Pretty sure he's friends with Myles Mack's family.

James Bailey (got to speak with him--super nice guy).

Karl-Anthony Towns (got to speak with him, especially since he was there with his dad and his dad and I knew each other from high school).

Alan Houston (spoke briefly with him, as he was there scouting the guard from tOSU a couple of years ago and he was near my seats--really nice guy).

Erin Andrews
I talked to her for a while before our International Bowl game against Ball State in Toronto. She was the hot sideline reporter.

Bruce Beck is in the Audi Club for many of our games...does he count?

One of my favorite games as well. I know this is crazy, but its higher on my personal list than Louisville '06.

Chris Christie on a Thursday night right after he was elected. I think it was the USF game that made us bowl eligible. It was on the buffet line. Also met the cast of the Apprentice when they did a challenge in one of the lots prior to a game.
