Chambers was effusive in his praise for the RAC

I don't put too much stock about what opposing coaches say especially after escaping with a much needed win. There is still a certain amount of diplomacy amongst coaches the lends itself to say nice things and credit the opponent regardless of how you might truly feel. When was the last time you really heard a coach take a shot at the opposing team or its coach in one of these post game pressers?

there are no more John Chaney's lol

What people don't realize is that the natural structure of the RAC is what gives it the ability to provide the atmosphere it does. It's an old school gym with great sightlines and and everyone is on top of you. When you go there as a fan, it makes it much easier to be engaged. It naturally encourages engagement.

People arguing for a luxurious and bigger arena aren't realizing that we would lose the rabid environment. The RAC is special and no matter how old it is, it is much more important to have an atmosphere that creates hell for our opponents. The more this program improves, the louder and tougher it becomes. 8,000 packed fans into a gym is MUCH better than a wide spread out modern arena with amenities. It may be a small gym, but on TV a full RAC is impressive and that's invaluable marketing

Exactly! PSU and Ohio State no atmosphere whatsoever despite the bells and whistles. Market the RAC rather then bar seats.

Chambers really reminds me of the game show host from Mallrats.

The only thing the RAC needs is mostly exterior change. Clean up the outside of it & make an appealing entrance. The only interior changes it needs are probably more bathrooms somehow and figuring out what to do with that office space above the concourse once those offices move to RWJ and Rodkin center

You guys gotta relax

Used "player" and "kid" and also Myles Dread by name

No wonder the 100s are fukking dead you guys want a maac team to sit and watch like the NY symphony

Missing the mark again. You have no idea how loud and into I get. I'm sure the refs can hear me from the 200s.

Its not about making noise, being cute, intimidating the visitors, etc...(actually being cute is ok cause everyone would get that)

Its about doing it in a way that doesn't make you persieved as a lunatic that security ought to keep an eye on and understanding that creating an intense home "hostile" environment doesn't mean scaring the crap out of the opposing teams families.

Its gonna need a new or refurbished roof at some point.. I've mentioned many times.. remove the columns and put them OUTSIDE to hold up the roof. Then you can have wrap-around seating inside with no obstructed views.
I gotta admit... I like the columns. On TV, as soon as you see them, you know it's the RAC. They're presence is one of the things that makes the RAC unique.
