Charlie Weis

Got to say, it would be the ultimate RU screw to the players and fans though. RU is favored by 13 over Kansas so of course we would go and hire their previous coach who was fired for not winning enough.

I can just picture Mal sitting at his computer, smiling, and thinking to himself...

"Well, I got them again"

ND was in bad shape when Weis took over, and he lead them to two BCS bowls.

How many BCS bowls did Schiano lead RU to?

ND as a program is never "in bad shape". They have limitless resources. They have the most storied tradition in football. To compare their version of "bad shape", pre-Weiss, with where we are as a program right now is...

Well, I can't even say.

So I'll let Antoine say it for me.

Their recruiting was never in bad shape, and ND gets bowls well above what their on field success is, for obvious reason.

How many bcs games did he go to at Kansas? Much more relevant to Rutgers.

Fair point.

His first three years at KU were similar to GS's at RU.
The difference was, Schiano's teams seemed to be getting better , Weis' were not and his ND teams took a dive after his first two years there.
Schiano might not be what Rutgers needs, but with Charlie : you must take away the "might.

None. He needed time to rebuild the program, and KU is not as patient as RU.

They had no reason to be. Their recruiting was going backwards, as was their record. Face it, he blows as a head coach.

I can't believe any self respecting, quality coach will take this job unless Barchi and Julie are gone to. The program and the university need a clean sweep.

Mal I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm thinking you thought you were in the money tree but instead you were really in the stupid tree and you fell out

Weis at Kansas was 6-22 for the worst winning percentage during that period of 2012 forward. He won 1 conference game and beat 1 other FBS school. His recruiting went backwards each season.

Yea, let's get that guy!
