Of course Shu got around this by hiring assistants tied to their 3 core players in Whitehead, Delgado and Carrington in landing a Top 15-20 class in 2014 .
absolutely--was on the record for that from day1I would do the same thing if it got me some players.
Wouldn't you ?

Rutgers is at the bottom now. Shu has had some success. But in 2 years, in 5 years we'll get up in the morning and say we're Rutgers. You'll still be Seton Hall.
What else do we have at this point but belief? Not trying to be a troll here, but Rutgers fans every time they hire a new coach seem to say this, why is Piekell going to be different?
A.C. Hobbs knows the recruits and A.D. Hobbs knows the shu recruiting playbook ...get it done.Hobbs has a better chance to do that than anyone we've had working for our basketball team in the past
First time since I can remember RU had such a qualified A.D. this experienced in D1-level hoops in Hobbs. Plus we finally will have some real $$$ to make it happen...no more small fry b-east/aac budget chokehold. What else do we have at this point but belief?
Exactly! Dead on point.First time since I can remember RU had such a qualified A.D. this experienced in D1-level hoops in Hobbs. Plus we finally will have some real $$$ to make it happen...no more small fry b-east/aac budget chokehold.
For one the university, for the first time ever, is investing in hoops. Spent money on the best staff in 45 years. Building a new practice facility. Upgrading the RAC. RU has been bad because They have been cheap and ignored the program. Not trying to be a troll here, but Rutgers fans every time they hire a new coach seem to say this, why is Piekell going to be different?
I think I'll start using PHobbs and KHobbs to differentiate the 2 Hobbs.A.C. Hobbs knows the recruits and A.D. Hobbs knows the shu recruiting playbook ...get it done.
Interesting to see Press reaction to this on Sunday out here. UNLV has their 3rd coach in 4 months (2 in the last month), couple of kids have signed agents so they're gone, couple transferred, one considering transferring, and a HS senior just decommitted so there is plenty of PT for next year for anyone signing on with UNLVSigned with UNLV
