The series of Thamel posts is funny. Had to sneak the fact that Ash was HC at RU into the last line of the 3rd post of the thread. Didn't want to mention that sterling 8-32 (3-26) record I guess.

Hey -can you change the thread title to Notre Dame Hires Chris Ash --It's a done deal.
Pretty good news for RU. At least we know Ash won’t be combing the halls of NJ’s high schools and sweeping up defensive talent.
He sucked here. It is what it is. But he seems like a decent guy. Never want solid dudes to fail. That’s bad karma.

Urban had a tendency to use co-DCs:
Luke Fickel was the other co-DC in both of Chris' years there
Luke was also the co-DC in Greg's first year running the Buckeye D in 2016
In 2017 it was only Schiano running OSU's D .
Ash might have done a good job , but Fickel was involved along with him running the D
Also Ash wasn't Meyer's DC at Jacksonville, he was the DB coach

My neighbor’s son is getting his masters at ND (he’s a Rutgers grad). Word on campus is he crushed the interview.
Good for him. There are probably tougher jobs than a team with 48 4 star players in the most recent 3 classes.
