Cliff was awful

Not to say he hasn’t developed, but I think his statistical growth speaks more to increased opportunity than it does to actual development. Rebounding is atrocious for a guy his size and he’s still lacking at the defensive end. Also think his positioning on offense can still improve mightily — got in the way on a number of drives today

I feel like things get forced through Cliff too often. He does not have a strong or creative post up game. He typically catches it too far or doesn’t catch it clean in the post to even attempt to be effective.

Also … cliffs biggest mistake was how he defended the eventual game winning layup
This. Misusing cliff. Last year turned when cliff was in high ball screen pnr like nearly every possesion. Doing that a lot less and forcing post ups to a guy who is a lobs pnr big smh

I have no idea what we’re doing on offense, but it’s inexcusable that we could not exploit this matchup.
Pike’s “offense” has been killing me

He very clearly looked injured IMO. Didn’t seem like he ran well tonight.

Also SHU’s GP was to shut down interior passes and Pike didn’t adjust to get more scoring from deep.

1-6, 5 pts, 9 rebs, 2 asst, 1 blk, 0 steals, 2 TOs, 3 fouls, 3-3 FTs. Need a lot more than that in a big game.
If Cliff thinks he's ready for the NBA, I have ocean front property to sell him in Iowa. The kid played poorly and in many instances disappeared tonight. Inexcusable.

And Pikell in the post game says we have to get him the ball more often that’s exactly what we don’t need to do when he gets the ball down low it’s like the ball going into a black hole as it never comes back out 3 things happen he either misses the shots gets the ball stolen or throws the ball away. He has absolutely the worst hands of any big man I have ever seen
The good news is he won’t be going to the NBA not this year and unfortunately for him not ever

Been saying this about Cliff for a while. He's an athlete not a basketball player. Doesn't have the natural basketball instincts and feel for the game so when he goes up against good competition, he gets exposed. Funny how some of our fans were saying he's NBA ready in preseason lol

He has very little low post game; has no hands; does not box out well; commits stupid fouls which leads to him being less aggressive on D; and lately has gotten too many of his shots blocked. He is terrific on the pnr, which for some reason the team has basically abandoned. Really don’t understand why he is on the Jabbar watch list

Would rather have seen Wolfok tonight. Why so few minutes when Cliff has 5 points and it doing nothing? Pike strange subs again. Wolfok is tough and mean down low. Cliff is skinny and gets blown over like tall grass, tonight SHU out toughed us inside. There are some Big Ten teams that will do this if we don’t play Wolffok. Michigan with Dickenson is one

I've been saying it since he got here. He is a great athlete playing basketball, he is not a basketball player. The alarming part about it is that with all the minutes he has played he has not developed much of a basketball IQ, he just relies on his athleticism.

Cam Spencer and Cliff our two leading scorers were bad. Cliff depends on others for most of his buckets but Cam missed open shot after open tonight. Too often he goes cold. He’s just simply not good
Cam is looking like a guy who is a great midmajor player and a contributing player in a major conference. He should not be a guy you count on to carry you offensively night in and night out at this level
