Cliff is good. He has offensive liabilities. But last night showed that his defense is a significant problem. The Temple and Miami centers ate him alive. So against the two real teams we've played so far, Cliff's weaknesses have been front and center. Jackson-Davis and Edey will torch him, as will any half decent big man with an offensive game. Unless he makes big advances in this area, I don't see him as an NBA ready.

Watching other B10 teams, I think our middling recruiting is going to get exposed (Hyatt, Mag, Reiber). Recruiting has to significantly improve to be a consistent tourney team. He got Gavin, which is great, but we need a lot more. We need at least one take over type guy.

Cam is also concerning as he has been a non-factor against the real teams.

These are major concerns going forward.

You are 100% correct his defense is not good and like last night he just gets muscled out to easily for rebounds; I just don't see him ever making the NBA he also has a very low basketball IQ and is not a good passer out of the post
As for Cam we need Paul and we have to run off the ball screens and sets for him to get him open

Notre Dame center in the NCAA really showed his defensive liabilities.

Rutgers front court players miss Jay Young the current head coach at Fairfield.Player development for Cliff should be more expanded than just an excellent dunker.

Agree 110% all of our coaches are point guards and since Jay left our big men have not really been developed like they were when he was here; also the interior defense has been lacking since his loss

I always think about how Doorson developed into an important role player under him. Doorson was always one of my favorite players because of how hard he worked to overcome adversity.

Its not like the current coaching staff is landing studs. Maybe time for a killer recruiter on staff.
