Two programs, that have been in the doldrums for years, have turned things around with new coaching hires. Can RU do the same with Ash? Remains to be seen.

Neither program has ever had the negative stigma that Rutgers has had. Ash is about to find out how hard recruiting NJ kids can be when PSU is a winner. It makes it worse that Temple will probably make the top 25 too,

Then we should just give up and play Colgate, Lehigh, Lafayette, etc. Geez. . . . And in your same pooh pooh of Rutgers, you mention Temple football?

We have to remember Rutgers dream season was 10 years ago. These kids were like seven years old. They probably don't remember that. They remember Fudd.

It's true that we are starting from a different point that will make it harder. The Penn State foothold in South Jersey will surely be bolstered with their recent success, along with Temple's. Tough sledding for Ash.

If we get the Jersey kids fine. There are 47 more continental states from which to recruit.(I am excluding Alaska). Recruit the BEST kids that we can from elsewhere. Win games and the Jersey kids will be begging to get in the door.Time is the key here.No reason that it cannot get done.

As long as those Jersey kids stay and simply do not use us as a safety school in case a better offer comes along.

There are quite a few turnaround stories. Even Penn State was ready to terminate Franklin if he had one or two more average seasons. They got lucky with a first year starter QBand a new OC. It takes the right combination. Didn't we beat Arkansas and Washington State and they might be considered turn around?

Plus it is as tough to recruit at CO when you competition for kids is USC, Oregon, Stanford and UCLA. Just as difficult as it is here in the B1G. With a plan and time it can be done. Ash has a plan and let's see where we are after three more seasons.

Washington and Colorado and not comparable. One was in the doldrums- Colorado. Saw them play 3 or 4 years ago against USC and it was bad. Like real bad. They looked like a teams playing at two different levels, and are a team we can point to which whose ascension we should keep a close eye on. Their coach had 3 losing seasons in a row, winning 2 conference games during that time. And looked horrible doing it. Then year 4 came.

Washington isn't close to that. They have been recruiting well and winning games from the time Sarkisian was there through now. They are just on a different level now, but they have been winning on some level and recruiting well for years now.
