Arrived a few minutes early, went to 2 concession stands for food and they were all sold out. I mean how can you sell out before game even starts? Who ever does the planning dropped the ball on this one.

I’ve said this for years to park one INSIDE the Stadium for Football but stupidly never thought to do this in front of the RAC.

I get that there is a big rush for 15-30 minutes before tip as well as the 15 minutes at halftime, but to be out of all sandwiches at multiple stations is horrible customer service. As they are selling, they should be cooking new ones up so everything is restocked. If the operations behind concessions and parking can match that of the team on the court, we'll really be rolling!
I emailed somebody got no reply, forgot about it, emailed back yesterday told them social media blast coming, got a phone call half hour later. Will call her back later today.
A good steak burger station that never ran out out of buns or meat would make a fortune!
I got an Italian sausage 10 minutes before the game, no line. Then some fresh, hot BBQ wings after the game from a nice guy cleaning up.
Never had an issue, food was fresh and tasty.
They have plenty of room in the corners by the student section. Especially if those areas aren't being used as practice areas anymore.
One of those corners is used for whatever that premium thing they have going (can't remember what they call it). Not sure who/what is using the other corner but they should use if for some food options like Princeton does at Jadwin and/or put in portable toilets (if that's allowed indoors, don't know).
After the game they should remove those various food/beverage carts from the hallways. Creates a bottleneck.
I was thinking more out front. Maybe in between the RAC and the practice facility or on the circle island in front.
Not sure if they would let one inside without proper ventilation as those trucks throw off a lot of CO (carbon monoxide).
They should at least give it a try. The concessions inside the RAC are inadequate. Give an entrepreneur a chance, not too far from the RAC entry points. They will succeed.

Put them on the grass on the circle in front or maybe by the practice center but get them there. And if I was Rutgers I’d get a piece of the $$$ for the “privilege” of getting a good spot.
I meant for the cooking. The grills are usually propane and they usually need more of a “tune up” than the engines.
But that would be cool to see a Grease Truck inside the RAC.
If they are outside the RAC, then you are limiting sales to right before the game. Do you really think a whole lot of fans are going to go to a food truck on their way into the RAC. Unlike football, people don't really tailgate for basketball games. They park in the lot and move into the building as quickly as possible.
I also don't know how a grease truck would handle the logistics of serving that kind of crowd. Don't they cook to order? Are people going to wait in line and then wait longer for their fat sandwich to be prepared? It would pretty much need to be ready-made sandwiches that are ready to go.
You’re right it does work better for Football than Basketball but still would be worth a shot to at least try it out.
Maybe even inside where they can get one of the concessions. Make it a bidding process.
Usually we go to Henry's before the games but they're closed during the break. So we've been going to a diner on Stelton Rd in Piscataway pre-game.
Either way, we're in the RAC at maybe 5 minutes after they open the doors at 6PM for a 7PM game with already full bellies. No need to visit overpriced

I think you had mentioned at one point that you are retired. It is a lot harder to do what you suggest when you are working until 5.
Yes I'm retired and I understand its harder if your working. For years, since I worked in Edison, I'd leave work at 5 and be there at 5:15 for the Women's game that was scheduled before the men's game. Or I would stay at work longer then head to the RAC if there wasn't a woman's game. They always had the doors opened and just had to show your ticket back then.
I don't know about Hobbs but whoever is in charge of concessions should be fired for the level of incompetence, think about lack of customer satisfaction, revenue loss,.......
The buffet at the Rutgers Club was excellent. Caesar salad, pasta with shrimp, sausage and peppers, roasted red potatoes, grilled salmon filets, fresh carved prime rib (and more) and a very nice selection of desserts. Yum.
