IMO Thad is a bad fit for Georgia-------Crean to me makes a ton of sense for Pitt.
He has to go on interviews to show that he's job hunting in order to keep getting his money from tOSU.Also reports that Thad Matta met twice with Georgia representatives, was offered the job, but then Thad withdrew his name from consideration.
would be a great choice for them...better than Hurley IMO...Danny may be stuck at URI forever.....or be relegated to a weak SEC school
LOL Hurley is not getting stuck anywhere. He will have many places to go if he so chooses.

tell me where he is going...Pitt would be a very good landing spot..as would UConn...does he want to go to a lower level SEC school
so looks if he does not land up there he likely is waiting it out at URI again
The idea that Louisville or Arizona would take him right now is laughable. The names you hear with Louisville are Chris Mack, Matt Painter and Steve Alford. Hurley is just not in that company right now... No need to mention Arizona cause that's even more ridiculous.
I doubt Cronin would seriously be interested. He got what he wanted out of UC.I wonder if Louisville would have Mick Cronin on their list even if he is a Pitino protege.
Actually, I don't want to discuss Dan Hurley for personal reasons.@Russ Wood what are your thoughts on Danny Hurley making a jump to a big time program?
Painter and Mack are long term coaches at their alma matters and aren’t going anywhere. Alford on the other hand is just a bad coach and I’d be shocked if he got another major gig after he’s inevitably let go by UCLA.
Georgia is IMO a great job .
He could be waiting on St Johns or GT to see if Mullin or Ewing don't pan out in about 4 years.
well Ewing just got there so he isnt going anywhere....Pitt is a better job than St Johns, its not the 80s
I could see Louisville making a run at Greg Marshall though.
Looks like Crean to Georgia.

If he went to Louisville it wouldn't be money driven.Marshall is interesting, but Wichita State joining the AAC might make him even less likely to leave than he was when they were in the MVC. I mean he's already extremely highly paid at a base salary of $3M a year (plus bonuses). Sure Louisville could pay him more, but Wichita State could also bump him up a bit and how much more would Louisville realistically offer?
Louisville is one of the few jobs I think Marshall would leave for. He’d get the chance to go head to head with elite coaches and ultimately compete for national championships.Marshall is interesting, but Wichita State joining the AAC might make him even less likely to leave than he was when they were in the MVC. It's now official. Done deal.
Disagree. Live in Georgia and as much as I hear people talking about Georgia football its just the opposite with UGA hoops. Not like they have any major winning tradition either.Georgia is IMO a great job .
No reason why Georgia can’t be successful in football and basketball, their rival Florida is able to do it. They have to show the willingness to allocate the necessary resources, maybe that time is now. There is an abundance of basketball talent in Atlanta.Disagree. You can't discuss Hurley, "the guy at Syracuse"....If he went to Louisville it wouldn't be money driven.
These coaches are super competitive and the chance to coach in the ACC against Roy Williams, K, the guy at Syracuse, Brey would be the draw. That and it is the ACC.
The Koch brothers pay most of his salary at Wichita State not the school. I'm not even sure if the school pays him $1 million. What is the end of the day he does get $3 million per.
