Most coaches know this is how you win even without offense. Pike resurrected an entire program with this philosophy. Almost made a Sweet 16. Why get away from that (no matter what Hawk said) for offense especially with mid major talent? Now May Ace change things, possibly, but he’s one player. What about 2025-2026? What will we look like in five years if we sell our pounding nails for offensive, up tempo, (in) efficiency?

A top coach can do well based on his personnel, and succeed at more than one style. If he can’t coach to several styles then he needs to recruit the same types of players over and over. We don’t have many “tough as nails” players right now, so it will be interesting to see how we adapt.
We’re a month into the season and we only got our first taste of a real team yesterday. Lots of catching up to do.

That’s a quarter of the season and we’ve been getting out hustled, shooting poorly and creamed on the boards all year. What’s going to change?
Not sure that it will but it’s ridiculous that we play cream puffs for an entire month.
I think Pike needs to adjust his defense if he is going to improve the rebounding. With everyone running to help on defense, our team is out of position, and then when the opponent kicks out to an open shooter, we have a couple guys running out to the shooter, and are not in a position to rebound. We should have our players stay at home on their man, help less, and we should rebound better.
