Wrong! he as on campus many times including the Big man camp in early June. RU Staff did not offer. We didn't offer, he never visited campus.
Not really if you actually look at the recruitsDePaul players are avoiding Rutgers.
Hewitt's measurables and offer list is comparable. Hopefully he ends up being the better player.
So TTFP lands a 2 star without big time offers from NJ and we ask why didn't we get/offer him...BUT
If Flood lands a 3 star we get on him for not being able to land big time talent. Got it.
FWIW, the 247 composite rankings have Hewitt graded at 0.8267 and Dwum graded at 0.8281. I'd say they are comparable.
He has several Power 5 offers such as Boston College, Pitt, West Virginia and Wake Forest. The reason I think people don't question at Penn State as much is Franklin has proven he can land those guys with offers from everyone. So TTFP lands a 2 star without big time offers from NJ and we ask why didn't we get/offer him...BUT

Our DL coach Panagos liked Hewitt and didn't like Dwum, thus only Hewitt was offered. Not very complicated.
I wasn't trying to insinuate RU should have offered him or that we got the better player, just that they were graded comparably.
who are you refering to by "we" ? since no one in this thread suggested that Rutgers should have offered (or did I miss someone? "we" implies a group)
You kidding? You may want to scroll up to the OP where he asked did we offer? should we be upset hes going to TTFP?
Or the simple fact that this is even a thread in the first place.
Does this thread happen if he commits to James Madison?
Do any of you guys actually go to games and watch these guys play ? I saw this guy any number of times too.
I wouldn't be doing backflips if Rutgers got him.
I like it when Pedd gets players from NJ that Rutgers doesn't offer.
This is much ado about nothing. Beyond Gary the midlantic region is very weak at DT this class (hence Dioubate being so coveted). Schools in the area still have slots to fill and it's pretty much pick your poison. Try to get a kid who fits your program and may pan out. The Dwumfor kid tested very well at PSU's camp last week, so PSU is rolling the dice.
Flood, to his credit, was able to go outside the area and pick up a commitment from a kid he feels will fit RU. He's probably as likely as Dwumfor to succeed in the B1G, just may fit what RU does better - who knows.
I have been very critical of Flood's ability to recruit. I'm tempering it now - it seems as if he has a strategy of concentrating on picking his battles with the Syracuse, Pitts, Temples and low-to-mid P5s and winning there. He's being successful doing that. We will see if that strategy will be enough to compete in the B1G east in a couple of years.
He's not winning any battles with the PSU, tOSU & Michigan's. My feeling is that RU will be an Indiana/Minnesota/Illinois over the long haul with recruiting like this. Once every 3 to 4 years you have a bunch of upperclassmen who have been in the system and you knock off a traditional power or two. Never go to the championship game. Maybe that's in the cards for the next coach.
You do NOT have a clue on what you are talking about, just go back & make sure that the PSU showers are empty before any coaches go into them!
Yeah again the star this is way overdone. There is a 2** kid who is making his announcement down in Maryland this afternoon who would be a terrific addition here...
Yeah, well.....there have been any number of 2-star linemen that Rutgers has successfully recruited over the years. That's not so unusual. Some of them have even turned out to be quality football players here.
But I don't recall Pedd St. taking many 5.4 rated 2-star recruits....particularly from our backyard.... and without an RU offer.
It just seems quite unusual.
