One of my favorite Rutgers players was Eli Carter who scored over 30 points defeating top ranked Florida at the RAC.His leg injury curtailed his college career including transfer to Florida.
Kinesh???? 😂 I think you meant Tenys. But I did see Bobby Blintz and Larry Latke there yesterday.Give me Josh Sankes, Avedis Kinesh, and Gil Buruda (sorry..not looking up real spelling with apologies to them) .
Btw..has anyone seen Sheridan yet?
yeah his Jewish brother lol. I knew I butchered it but not THAT bad..ooops.Kinesh???? 😂 I think you meant Tenys. But I did see Bobby Blintz and Larry Latke there yesterday.
Dude could fill up a stat sheetNo mention of Eric Riggins? One of the few bright spots in the Littlepage era
Justin PiaseckiBK -At one point, they had the team from the early 00's on the court: Axani; Wiggan; Shields. There was 1 guy who appeared to be about 6'8" or so and was wearing a baseball cap and I believe was holding his child.
Who was that?
He appeared to be a teammate of Shields/ Axani etc.
Thanks,
Phil
Autocorrect is drunk these days!yeah his Jewish brother lol. I knew I butchered it but not THAT bad..ooops.
He played pro there and I think he’s in their bball hall of fame. Don’t ask me who else is in there!Remley comes to a lot of games. Kelvin Troy actually married an Irish woman and now coaches high school basketball in Ireland!
There’s a great photo of Herve celebrating but Melo in the background with a smirk on his face as if he’s saying, “Did you call that?”Herve banked 3 to beat Syracuse with Melo was one of my all time favorite RAC games
fat fingers and missing glasses doesn't help :)Autocorrect is drunk these days!
There is very little time and getting these guys to line up in order is like herding cats. They did a fantastic job choosing to include everyone. Hobbs warmly greeted everybody and I don't think slipped the donor pitch in once. Very well done. The general good feelings will pay dividends. I've gotten on them in the past for cutting corners and coming off chintzy (checked to make sure that word had no racial, religious, or ethnic connotations because it is 2024), but RU is starting to look like an actual big time B1G program.Glad they got the former athletes there, but it was poorly done. In the past, when many have been introduced, they would line them up first, and then announce the names as they stepped forward one by one. It didn’t take any more time, and we could see who was who.
No. You don’t have to get them to line up in order. Just take a step forward from wherever you are standing when your name is announced. No time involved. And we could see who is who. There is very little time and getting these guys to line up in order is like herding cats. They did a fantastic job choosing to include everyone. Ricky lives in Alexandria VirginiaWiggns at first wasnt that useful of a player but i think by the time he left he really was a very good defensive player
Shields was one of my faves of all time so it was great to see him come back today. I know he played overseas for a while but not sure where he lives
wonder if we get the FIG players back lol
A day or two after 40th anniversary of his game winning buzzer beater against ND in the meadowlandsChris Remley was out there on the floor today. 1985 Draft pick of the Celtics... Mr Irrelavant for that year, and I also heard then announce Matt Madlinger
'85 NBA Draft Revisited: Mr. Irrelevant
Chris Remley was the final player selected in the historic 1985 NBA Draft. But he never made it to the NBA.www.vice.com
He was such an underrated great player for us if there is someone like that. He was awesome during that NIT final run.Ricky lives in Alexandria Virginia
Great story! Sounds like he’s doing well. Good to hear. Not OT because he worked with a lot of the guys mentioned here. I’m reading this thread sitting on a bench outside of a clothing store in Sarasota today as my wife shops and a guy sees my Rutgers basketball shirt and tells me he coached basketball there and starts up a conversation . Jimmy Carr , worked under Bannon ( he called it madness), Waters (a shame per him) and Freddy (his words- shitshow). Nice guy, still follows the team. He was pumped about Wiscy and thinks we have a run in us. Head coach at IMG now.
Hollis CopelandWho was gentlemen in red pants? I saw him speaking to J Williams after game. Seemed like a cold dude.
We should all wish Jimmy well. No one should have to endure what he and his family went through all those years ago as far as son, He also was here under Rice. Truly remarkable to be here under 4 different regimes. Not OT because he worked with a lot of the guys mentioned here. If Inman came back and did an NIL event where he read his Steak of Turmoil post, it might be the biggest fundraiser since the drive to hire SchianoWiggns at first wasnt that useful of a player but i think by the time he left he really was a very good defensive player

Battle was at the Iowa game last season. I got to shoot the breeze with him prior to tip-off. It was his first time on the banks in many, many years. For those who don't know, he's now a pastor near Atlanta. Two of the best players to ever play on the Banks, played a couple of years together, and then played 7-8 productive years in the NBA: John Battle and Roy Hinson. Those guys should be back and regularly. Battle was a hell of a guard, and I can still picture Hinson rising way above everybody to reject shot after shot. Two of the greats.
Thanks but it wasn’t himJustin Piasecki
