GAME 12 PRINCETON: Season slipping away as every game is exactly the same

I think this is a misunderstanding of what the mods said. As has been discussed, it’s possible we passed on some lower level center possibilities because of Lathan (though I think the implication that he threatened someone I think is overstated) but the idea that we didn’t keep cliff or sign a proven good center because of Sommerville is ridiculous imo. And even if it were true it wouldn’t explain why we didn’t spend on the rest of the roster. The simplest explanation that makes the most sense is that we simply did not have the resources.

Also, the mods quite frankly say a lot of stuff and much of it turns out to not really be true.
Got it thanks. As much as I appreciate your genius and significant contributions to the boards, I think I will go with reality and the mods here. But thanks for sharing!!!

Your “reality” is that we let our four year center go because a high school kid “threatened” Pike? Lmao.

I mean ****, if this is true we have a bigger problem which is that our coach is a gigantic bitch and needs to be fired yesterday. This is just obviously not true lmao but have fun in “reality”.

If we actually squandered a bunch of our resources on getting Bailey for one year I would honestly argue it was a recruiting mistake at this point. But I really have no idea how the NIL resources work (I know, i know, they got outside money) so I can’t make that statement with confidence.
Zero money from the collectives were used to pay Dylan or Bailey. Whatever resources Rutgers may have been able to tap only available because a couple of wealthy individuals were sold on bringing the two of them in.

Ace Bailey can make any shot on the court. Is he streaking at times yes. But please also keep in mind that we do nothing to get him open. To even insinuate that he’s not a good college player is very hyperbolic. Yes, he is raw. I agree with you there.
Exactly, as I’ve said a hundred times, we have no idea how to use him. Usually he’s catching the ball with the defender squared up against him and he shoots a jump shot. His athleticism is nullified because we do nothing to help him…nothing. He attacked the basket on his own on his first possession yesterday and then that seemed to disappear. A simple back screen for him would be wonderful for an occasional back-door, etc., but we just roll the ball out and run ISOs with only two players who are even capable of running them, and usually Bailey just dribbles into traffic. Bailey did himself no favors by coming here..he needs coaching..with Harper it won’t matter. Dylan might as well coach the team, he probably knows more from his dad anyway.

how much did we blow on Acuff
I am 55 and I may have similar lateral quickness. I get it that he was injured, but nothing has changed with him and his health. He is what he is at this point and it is unlikely to change, he’s a guy with similar quickness to a 55 year old who is likely slower than Hayes and Martini.

Unfortunately a broken foot has wrecked many basketball seasons and more than a few careers.

Like I said after the RU-Illinois football heartbreaker...

Sorry but it doesn't work like that. You don't get to Cherry pick and say that the greatest class we've ever gotten doesnt count.

He signed five top 150 players.

You don't get to say he's a bad recruiter.
Although he should get credit for landing both Dylan and Ace, he was only in the mix for them due to unique circumstances. Context is very important with his best class.

That is not going to be repeated, and that is what is most important.
