It's in a podcast. Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams of the News Sentinel discuss whether Jones would be a good fit for Rutgers. Short answer: NO.
Notes on podcast:
Jones not a good fit for Rutgers. He never rebuilt a program. He did a little bit at UT. He followed Brian Kelly at Cincy--it was built up. Rutgers is most challenging game in country. He had problems with player relations in Tennessee.
Greg Schiano is far and away the front-runner.
Butch is a good salesman. Better suited for a MAC job--going home for him. He can promote a program. But there is so much more than promotion to the job.
Schiano is from New Jersey--a better fit. You can test your faith coaching Rutgers--need divine guidance for that job.
Three Rutgers coaches have ties to Tennessee--Jones, Schiano, and Nunzio coached Jarrett G in high school.
