Eugene's improved shot

Yes, noticed this at the open practice. He will hit some threes this season, not expecting a high percentage, but hopefully enough to force defenses to stay out on him, opening the floor more.

EO nailing some 3's. His form looks much improved. He isn't bring the ball back over his head

I am not trying to be a debbie downer, I do expect him to be able to hit some outside shots, but shootaround 3 pointers and in-game are two different animals. You could see guys like Shaq hit them in practice but in the game he will never come close

I was vocal last year. He needs to develop this shot for us to go dancing. He's our Draymond green. No 3's off the dribble. Just shoot it if it isn't contested and don't shoot it within the 1st 10 seconds of the shot clock. 36% this year would be great!

Players should take shots where there is a realistic possibility of making them on a consistent basis.Eugene expanding his offensive game is a positive sign and fans will watch to see if the 3 point shot should be taken versus shots around the basket.

His shooting form looks great. You don't see guys change their stroke too often at this age but he looks like he has. He is different in a lot of ways. His leap from year to year has been tremendous and i liked him as a frosh.

Isn't it great to have a coaching staff that is capable of developing players? This kid is a completely different player from when he first started here

Yes, but also keep in mind he is a driven player with great work ethic who also came in having not played basketball for that long. Just as good a job by coach in spotting the chance for development and other intangibles as in actually coaching/developing him.

I hope he learned how to "literally" dribble and make a layup.....lol

Man.....this one has a shelf life of almost 2 years....Eugene has progressed in a lot of ways unlike a lot of RU players in the past under different staffs. The RU history of player development hasn't been good.... anyone projecting Eugene to be a capable 3 point shooter wasn't really truthful....he's made leaps and bounds further than i would have thought.

Eugene will be sagged off on defensively and will be played to drive....he may be able to knock down a 3 if he's left open.....he definitely won't be defended like Issa Thiam is on the wing....

It's called the Golden St. effect on basketball, college is going to look more like the NBA, like the NFL is becoming more college football now.

A lot of that has to do with the revolving door of players in and then out of the program. There were a.lot of players going back to the Bannon years that never stayed long enough to develop here.

I know a.lot of programs have turnover and transfers....but, man, Rutgers is probably near the top of list going back 20 years.

One of the goals Pikiell has going forward that very few people mention, is having 2 or 3 Seniors on the roster each year....if he can accomplish that...I think you will finally start to see real player development.

I look forward to seeing Baker, Kiss, Harper Jr, EO, and Doorson on the floor together at some point. EO just has to be seen as a threat to shoot from three, and even that will have a positive effect.

Gene could have a very good three-point percentage. He’s not going to be taking many and only on really clean look.

I do not see any unfounded conclusions. His shot does look better, but no one is saying he has turned into Steph Curry.
Also, Geo, Pike and Eugene have also all been quoted talking about how much he has worked on it, and how much its improved. So it's not like someone pulling it from thin air and making crazy assumptions.

Glad to see he's added it to his arsenal. He was 0-11 from the arc as a freshman, and 0-5 last year. He'll continue to be left open on the perimeter until he can prove to opponents that he's worth covering - if he can turn that into points, all the better.
