Hoping for two champs, would make for a great week!. Gonna be tuff to get two, but would be great exposure to get two in finals. Like JVB's draw(if he wins first match-I can see him getting to blood round).
My guess on team points is 50.5 which in some years is 9-10 place, so top 10 is a possibility

Doesn’t JVB face Nolf in the second lol? I get that he might have winnable wrestle backs, but I’d rather him have a winnable second round match, which is literally anyone but Nolf.

Yes, he has Nolf, so he does not have a winnable second round match. That is how you look at a bracket, who he has on the backside of the bracket. I think if he wins first match than loses to Nolf, his path is very good to the blood round.

Can't wait, I have my vacation days scheduled for Thursday and Friday!
Hoping for 2 matches on Saturday!!!!!

Oh yeah locked and ready.Vacation time set - I do not want to miss Rutgers Wrestling History in the making.I am truly looking forward to this tournament more than any other as a Rutgers Alumni.

Our group will be heading out 5:30 am Thursday; can’t wait. In addition to our six (hoping for two going Satuday night and one other AA), I’m looking forward to watching M. Lewis and Rivera. Top 8 at 165 is tough, so it will be interesting to see if Mekhi can AA. He has been flying below the radar for years, and now can AA as a Freshman. It’s a shame we couldn’t keep him in NJ.

ESPNU is included with ESPN with most Cable TV packages

I've used ESPN3 last year, and kept all 8 mats going at the same time, with 8 separate windows running simultaneously . You can mute each individual mat. In the early rounds there is usually only commentary on the higher profile bouts.

Use Flo Arena or Track wrestling for mat assignments. Flo Arena lets you get Text alerts for specific wrestlers you designate to get mat assignments.

I believe Lewis is going to make it through as an AA- Nice & strong for the weight with excellent improvement on his technique.I certainly hope Rivera wins - he has jump levels working with Brewer. We could see multiple champs from Jersey in this tournament.Definitely could be a landmark year for not just Rutgers but in jersey in general.

Does anyone know how many NCAA champs New jersey has produced in one season?

Sure, looking at the bracket, I think JVB wins first then loses to Nolf. He drops into the wrestleback and hits the winner of Barrone ILL-16-14 vs Barton of Campbell 11-3. I think he wins that and then will have most likely Pagdilia from ASU(the 9 seed). I think he should win that match. That puts him in the blood round against either Young from Iowa or Deaken from Northwestern. Of course all tough matches, but to me this is a good draw for a 16 seed.

I wish we had him at Rutgers too. From what I hear the kid did not want to stay in NJ.He wanted to go away for college.Felt he would excel been away which seems to have worked out for Lewis nicely.

ASU Pagdilla will be a tough one but JVB can certainly pull that out.

Pretty sure 3 champs from NJ is the most, done twice

NJ Wrestlers with a real chance to win it all seems to be:
125 Rivera
133 Suriano
141 McKenna
149 Ashnault
184 Myles Martin
285 Cassar

Plenty more w real chances to AA including JVB, Glory, Lewis, McFadden, Gravina?. Hope the rest of our RU, PU, and Rider guys do well.

And for those of us who also follow RU WBB, our tourney game timing is perfect being 4:30 pm Friday, right in between the Quarters on Friday morning and Semi's / Blood rounds on Friday night.

Thx, hmmm JVB can win against PAgdilia BUT man Deakin is super tough... JVB isn’t beating him
Unless he catches him... JVB has a better shot to beat Young but I’m not confident in this either... this bloodround match is so tough.. it’s really gonna be something if JVB can AA...

Think we get at least 4 NJ champs this year..

SeaBass wrestling with a lot of confidence. Would like to see McFadden and Lewis take it.
All B10 jersey champs have good shot. Rivera, nick,McKenna,Martin, ash, cassar

The boy and I will be heading out to PA Wednesday night. Staying at in-laws overnight then on the road by 7am to get to hotel.

Safe travels. If possible , write some updates on how the ‘scene’ is in Pittsburgh and the Arena is for the Tournament. I enjoy those kind of travel reports.

Flowrestling did team point standings based on seedings.

RU would finish tied for 9th w 35.5 points along w NW and Lehigh , if Ashnault finishes 1st, Suriano at least 3rd, and the rest of the guys win the matches they are favored in. Cornell is slotted at 8th w 41.5 points, so I guess if Suriano wins it along w Ashnault, RU would have a shot at 8th. 1st place gets 16 team points, 3rd place gets 10 points.

A guide to team scoring at the NCAAs:

They also have a ton of other NCAA coverage. Most, but not all, behind a pay wall, of course.

Very good free Podcast from Inside Trip , breaking down each weight class in the Tournament , It is very detailed, and funny at times as well.
Lasts about an hour, maybe a little more. Good for a long drive, or a few long walks, lol.

My crew of 3 are leaving after work tomorrow around 4:30. Gonna stop midway for dinner than check into the hotel. Can't wait for the first opening session.

I'll post up my thoughts of the atmosphere Abro when I get a chance, especially from a newbie point of view.

It is a great listen. It is 2 hours 20 minutes, but very detailed. It took me two hour plus commutes to finish. Thanks for sharing!!
