First Early Season B1G Game

For the second year in a row Rutgers and Penn State play in the first B1G game on the schedule for the season at night. I really like the fact that we play a team that is a potential border rival early in the season to tip off the conference schedule. It gets the juices flowing early in an important conference game. We both recruit the same players and are in the same division. I like the potential tradition of it and really wish it would be this way every season.

i like it and agree with the OP. Both teams are 0-0 in the B1G.

Guys they're both being played late, most seasons, from here on out IIRC. These 2 games had already been scheduled, pre-invite, on these dates. Conference officials simply chose to not move them in an effort to "kick off" our 1st 2 seasons with a bang!

Yea I realize that. Just saying I really like playing this one early. I know the B1G is going to do what they want to do with the schedule. But it's interesting that other conferences start playing some of their conference games early (SEC comes to mind). Would be a cool tradition.
