Foolishness by our fans

Just want to say sorry for the drive-by last night, guys. I was drunk and amped after the finish. No disrespect intended and good luck going forward (except, of course, for your return date in IC). Your basketball team is miles ahead from when you joined the conference. This conference is stacked with athletes 1-14 and apart from the real top dogs, 5-14 are going to carousel year-to-year with experience on the roster.

Parking,
Thanks for your contribution and generalization of RU fans.
I don't know RU fans or really understand the northeast in general. We've met once in football, I think, and I couldn't make that trip. And I certainly haven't made travel plans to visit for a basketball game in January/February. I wouldn't generalize.

Wild Turkey?

Exactly, the big east wasn’t full of great athletic departments and yet we were terrible, losing by 30 wasn’t unusual, now we show up to the big ten and all of a sudden we’re winning games, and being closely competitive with the top teams in the conference magically? I’m not impressed off the bat here and once Rutgers has a full funded membership in about 5 years (only way to compare apples to apples), I think lots of you corn folk will be shocked

That’s just not true. Bannon had us .500 in the big east in his second year . Had us in the big east semifinals in his first . When will we be .500 on this league? When will we make the conference semifinals ?
Kevin friggen bannon !

Ha. You're the second Iowa poster to apologize for drunk posting. That made me laugh. Hopefully we give you a good game out there. If we can play that good on D we have a chance.
We got like 8 inches of snow last night/into the morning in Des Moines. I don't know what the weather was like in eastern Iowa but would place a bet on it being similar. Basketball on TV, alcohol in the fridge/freezer, no place (work) to go. Internet access. You know what it is.

Corn squeezing?
Iowa's population is not very agricultural. The land is mostly curated by seed multinationals, large land owners, bankers financing seasonal operations, ag insurance companies, and operated by paid help or renters. I don't know anything about farming and struggle to grow cilantro on my window sill. Des Moines is all banking/insurance. Iowa City is a college town, same with Ames. The other larger towns in Iowa were manufacturing places and meat packing places (some of the manufacturing supported ag directly, but most of those jobs are gone compared to the 40s-80s).

I like to see Harper lose some of that baby fat in the off season, I think that would have a night and day difference in his game.

These guys work hard. And Harper has already lost some inches around his waist. It is very noticeable.

All of these guys will transform their bodies over the off season.

Make each guy hit 10 consecutive FTs before any practice can end. They’ll be shooting lots of FTs
I believe there is a limit to the amount of time a team practice. That would take time away from a lot of things that will impact the result a lot more

Half the people I know from Iowa grow corn. Of course sample size is only 2

The Big East is not a real conference anymore because all the member institutions were too weak to support major college athletics. You were fortunate to find a stable slot. And you will take advantage of your charitable invitation and continue to prosper as an institution and even enjoy successful seasons in athletics. Iowa survives relegation by putting up numbers in a deep league.

The RU fans were quite tolerant of your drunken spiel. You come across as cretinous when you’re drunk. Try to cut back. I bet ur family tells u the same.

More hedonistic than cretinous (not necessarily synonymous - there is a Venn diagram and if you go line item I'm mostly hedonist). My family tells me lots of things and about half of them are worth consideration (that said, I only listen to half of the things that are worthy of consideration).

Congrats on your impressive victory yesterday. And kudos for your tolerance. I hadn't realized RU had enough fans for that to even be a worry for me. It's not customary for Big Ten fanbases to discuss tolerance of other Big Ten fanbases. You just know whether or not you can go somewhere with official apparel, and I'm still learning about RU.

Just twisting the knife into the SHU fan there... maybe you're not so bad after all

Exactly what happened.
Only criticism is that Pike should have had someone on the inbounder. The #1 thing you want to do is prevent the long pass.
Or maybe with Bohanon on Iowa you WANT the long pass no??? I'm totally OK with how Pike playe it...So many things had to happen to lose and they all did. If they get a ball to Bohanon and he dribbles across half court and hits a 3 MANY here would be screaming we should have doubled him and made them throw a full court pass...It doesn't have to be someones fault every time a team loses...

Not assigning blame here. It's just the way I was taught. Doesn't mean that it's the right way.
