Here are two truisms we should all be able to agree on: 1) the transitive property does not apply to college basketball; and 2) "good" college basketball teams don't lose by 50 points to anyone.

4th straight road game, their only big man only played 11 minutes maybe being suspended for first half because of flagrant foul against us, and their best 2 shooters did not shoot well . Just to correct you , exactly what was said was their starting five is good and several good shooters but that they have no height or length or depth and no bench. Specifically the statement was made that they were not a bad team in reply to one poster saying they were a "bad" team after watching them play us. I guess the road trip took too much out of them.

Obviously, you are trying to make a connection to "Like Opponents": Rutgers and OSU. Does this mean that you think Cincinnati would also beat Rutgers and OSU by a similar score , 119-68 ??

Northwestern beat Chicago State 68-64 the other night as the home team.....
Northwestern lost to Top 10-15 team, Butler by 2 earlier in the season....
DePaul beat Chicago State today 109-61....they had a 60-22 halftime lead.
RU won comfortably at DePaul earlier in the year.....
RU will have two games with Northwestern this year.....any guess on how we will matchup with Northwestern has absolutely nothing to do with the results above....
None of these items/scores make sense if you isolate them to one day, other than Northwestern on paper is closer to a NCAA bubble team today, vs any time in recent memory and they were in a one point game with under a minute to go, at home vs Chicago State 3-4 nights ago.
I don't know about let down scenarios, but they are very real and not imagined....a hard-fought OOC game for a team can create a letdown the next game.....

Part of the RU problem as I see it is the inability of RU to stop open threes by other teams..... a lot of teams will put up points against us if you leave them open for that three....
we are 10-1 but we are not a very, very good team...... we get the job done by working the whole game and outlasting a team with a bit less talent
we will lose a lot of big 10 games, but will win a couple more than last year because of this.... making the NIT is probably out of reach, which sounds dumb to say when sitting at 10-1... but probably true

I am fine with that. We will get better if we do the things you mentioned.
Looks like we will beat Northwestern by 50 in one game and lose by 50 in the other.
Fordham lost to St. John's 90 - 62.
So let me be the 1st to say that if Rutgers beats Fordham Sunday, it will nonetheless mean that Rutgers stinks.
And if they lose to Fordham, it will mean they really, really stink.

They are a bad team that played very well against two Big 10 teams on the road.....Ohio State and Rutgers. I'll take that "BAD" all day if I am the coach of FDU

This ^^ it's true - people on here (especially one guy who I won't name) I believe are so used to us being absolutely horrible, that now that we're winning they just don't know what to do with themselves ... in typical Rutgers fashion, people are expecting disappointment (which they may be right in the end), but as almost a defense mechanism they are saying now about how we are no good, the teams we beat are no good, we will lose so many Big Ten games etc .... OKAY! I don't think anyone expects us to win the B1G this year ..I think even the most optimistic of us, and even coach Pikiell knows that we're not gonna finish 30-1. But jeez, we are all FANS and would it kill ya to just ROOT for our team one game at a time, instead of reminding everyone EVERY single day that "guys remember, we're probably going to lose to Michigan State, and Wisconsin, and Seton Hall won't be and easy game and..." WE KNOW. Sheesh.
this...they lost to Army and St Peters by ALOT. The one thing we can count on is Rutgers fans always spinning that their opponents are better than they are. Truth is body of work and record at 2-9 says they are not. It does not take away from Rutgers victory to say that FDU is a bad team. If you cannot find your way onto the top 250 of the college hoops ranking and your only D1 win was Lipscomb...then yes you are bad.
Lol...I like talking basketball and if somebody is going to try to say FDU is a good team I will call them out. Waving Pom poms is for the actual game.
Good team, bad team, average team...what difference do these label make? They are capable of playing well as evidenced by their performances against OSU and Rutgers. They have Bad games as well.
Maybe Inconsistent is the word to use here.....maybe bad for P5, good for their conference. Who knows.
They also played a tough OCC slate with road games at Seton Hall, OSU, Rutgers and Cincinnati. This last game against Cincy was probably the Perfect Storm.....a very tired FDU team on the road again with little prep time facing a home team looking to close out the last of their OCC games on a high note.
