Franklin

I'm sure Ash will be great for you guys. Believe me I didn't come here to sling mud. I'm just pointing out the story isn't logical and I doubt it's varsity. Honestly, Pitt is the closest P5 school to Youngstown, his hometown. I really think the only place he goes is MSU. Obviously, I could be wrong but I really don't think I am. Best of luck next year. Beat Franklin but not too badly next year. I think it is in everyone's best interest for him to stay at PSU for a long time.

The Penn State OL is made up of highly rated recruits. I get that some were DL...but really a kid coming out of high school is just an athlete. DL usually make good OL recruits anyway. In addition, Pitt's recruiting is going fine. I have full confidence Narduzzi knows what he is doing.

Im honestly starting to wonder if you have any clue what you are talking about. This isn't high school football where you just put the biggest/fastest guy on both sides of the ball. There's a reason recruiting analysts and coaching staffs project where kids will project at the next level.

To boot, I'm not sure where these highly rated kids are along the OL. I guess Palmer and Mahon being in the two deep gives you that theory.

Wow...a Pitt vs. PSU pissing match on Scarlet Nation...we have arrived! LOL.

Seriously though, yes, Narduzzi did a nice job this year for PITT but it's still exactly ONE year more of HC experience than Ash and from reliable sources Narduzzi was interested in RU but was asking way too much money. Listen, Narduzzi is smart... he knew we were looking for a coach to bring back the D and there was the chance we may over pay someone given we have a new AD AND the abortion we just saw in the Hale Center for 3 out of 4 seasons (the Fridge season was respectable). Hobbs didn't bite and took Ash instead. Both programs have a good, young up and coming head coach. Happy ending for all.

Believe what you like....I'm connected enough to know the truth. The story was fed to the press to effect recruiting. And that is why you saw the Narduzzi extension today. To stop the negative recruiting. Jimmy Franks is running scared.

Have no idea how connected you are. But on this issue you don't know crap. I wish Rutgers was smart enough to do something like this to effect another team's recruiting. But Pitt? Who cares? You're not in the Big 10 so you've fallen off our radar. It does seem like your coach would like to get back to the Big 10 though doesn't it?

But let me get this right. This is a "story" thought up by Rutgers to effect Pitt's recruiting. And it has no basis but because of it, Pitt has given its HC an extension?

Pitt is #1.. that's a pretty dumb user name. And you're wrong..Nobody wants to settle down in Pittsburgh, certainly not pat narduzzi. Sad Pitt fans don't realize Rutgers is light years ahead in football

Pittsburgh as a city is actually underrated and fantastic. Problem is, no one who lives there gives a shat about PITT football.

Ridiculous theory. Reality was he reached out about the RU job. While Hobbs was focusing on Ash, Narduzzi used it to get an extension after the news started spreading.

Pretty shrewd move, and if I was a Pitt fan, I'd think a lot less of my coach.

Just because it's a NJ paper? What makes you think it was Rutgers who floated the story?

I don't believe I said I was never coming back. And why are you even bothered by that? It's not like I come on here and hurl insults at anyone. You don't really have to respond to me if it affects you so badly, ya know. But by all means, please tell me how many comments I have on this board since you seem to be keeping count.

You have 149 posts on our board.....which really is pathetic considering you generally come here to only discuss PSU or to sling mud. FYI the new Rivals forum format tracks posts separately on each team board.

I don't find it implausible that Narduzzi would check out the RU job. If only for leverage to negotiate an extension; it's a smart move.

And I think that is exactly what he did. Did he contact RU, most likely. Was he REALLY interested, probably not. (UNLESS we would seriously overpay.)

He wasn't approached by Rutgers. It was the other way around.

Not looking for an argument but that's what well-placed sources have told us.
And our well placed sources told us it is complete nonsense and bullsh*t. It was nothing more than a ham handed attempt at negative recruiting

Lol good one

There is an article appearing in today's (12/11/15) Pittsburgh Post Gazette entitled "Narduzzi gets 2-year extension" which addresses the issues being discussed. (Google it if want to).

From the article:

When was Narduzzi approached about an extension: "About a month ago, midway through Pat Narduzzi's first season as Pitt's head coach, athletic director Scott Barnes raised the idea of a contract extension at their weekly meeting".

Narduzzi asked about talking to Rutgers or other programs: "There's absolutely no conversation with, not only them, but anybody, Narduzzi said. That's a fact. You can hear it from me".

Narduzzi on recruiting and Pitt commitment: "I've heard from high school coaches and I've heard from recruits that people are out there slinging mud at us, saying we're not going to be here long, we're going to do this and do that. Narduzzi said "That's great baloney. The message is Pitt is back and we're going to be here for a while".

How well will Narduzzi do in recruiting this year.

The answer will be evident in February.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Who honestly cares about Pitt here? My Saturday's are now filled with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan etc. not facking Pitt, Syracuse and Wake and BC.

Thank goodness.

Should I run and hide because you track my posts?? i don't really care, track away babe!

I think you missed his point.

The number of posts you make to the Rutgers board is automatically tallied under your name.

He's right though -- whenever I see your name in a thread, it's likely to be followed by a comment that's not very respectful to NJ, Rutgers, or our fans.

He's basically calling you a troll and until you prove otherwise...

Well, I challenge you both to pull up my "not very respectful to NJ, Rutgers, and your fans" posts. I live in NJ and have for quite some time so any comments I make about it are based on my experience living here around RU students/alumni. He can call me whatever he wants if that's what gets him through the day, I'm not here to prove anything, it's a message board. What's pathetic to me is that he actually cares how many posts I have enough to mention it. But no worries, I won't be going back and forth on this. Have a good day!

NJ: "...the turnpike stinks to high hell, and should you get lost in some southern parts of NJ you would think you were in the backwoods of Mississippi..."
fans: "Some of you fans have an inferiority complex of the worst kind. Is being an RU supporter/alum/fan not enough?"; "Only in the delusional minds of this board."; "Who would read your post and even want to listen to you?"; "I don't get why you guys act so 'minor league'"; "Lol. You guys kill me."
Rutgers: Didn't find any direct quotes disparaging of our school, but your posts are full of sarcasm and are often framed in a way that it feels like you are talking down to us (ie: "Good luck with that! Ash isn't recruiting for tOSU..."; Your whole rant where you brought up how you heard someone couldn't get into a class -- BFD

Keep in mind, all these little gems found in only 150 posts...

Unfortunately we've seen a number of Pedd State fans cropping up on this board over the past couple of months who don't have PSU identifiers in their names but only "contribute" to PSU-related threads, and seem to be intentionally trying to hide their affiliation. BTW, I am not putting kjb into that category, he posts here often and is very transparent.

I guess you take the word of coaches. All coaches lie. Narduzzi used Rutgers as leverage to get that extension pushed through. There was some mutual interest with Narduzzi, deal with it.

And you just outed yourself with "your fans".

So where are your true allegiances?

Being near Youngstown is not a plus even if he grew up there. Anyone with any sense moves the hell out of that area after high school and never looks back. Pitt is not a destination.

There is NO question, whatsoever, that Narduzzi expressed interest in the Rutgers job. Denying will do you no good, it's really not a big deal, but it IS a fact.

Nobody is claiming it is. All we are saying is the story was a plant. The only way any school is a destination is when it is willing to pay more than anyone else. Since that is the case,I hope Pitt is never a destination job. I love football...but there are many more important things in life.
