It's Fuentes vs Herman on tv right now. I wouldn't mind seeing either one of those guys on our sideline next season.

both are great, but both are likely to be in-demand candidates though. Would love to be in the running

set your sights lower...we aren't getting these guys or Rhule...these guys will go top 5-6 openings and Rutgers is not one of them

Someone mentioned Hermann has a connection to Missouri. Could be going there.

Herman is a pipe dream...he is going to be in line for a big-time job after this year, or he could just stay at Houston, which is not a bad program. Fuente is also going to be well in demand, would love him here.

Mack Rhoades was the Houston AD last year who hired Herman and now he's the AD at Mizzou. Btw he could have been our AD back when we hired TP and was my first choice at the time, followed by Mehrtens and then TP.

with the 2nd string qb too.

We used to have one of those. But we're told he's not mobile enough to play:

Or was it the playbook? Or the huddle? Or ...????!!

2nd string QB went down earlier in the year, #3 was a WR all year and through camp and switched to QB mid season when the backup went down.
Wow didn't know that. Sounds almost like an OSU redux when he was the OC there. That was one of things I liked about him and Meyer's coaching job. Things like that and what Brian Kelly was able to do at Cincy that year with 3 qbs speaks to coaching acumen IMO.

Yeah all of our backup QBs under Herman came in and won games for us. Kenny Guiton came in down 8 pts with under a minute left and led the team to a win to keep an undefeated year in 2012 when Braxton Miller got injured. Won a few games for us the next year too.

Then ofc most people know about JT & Cardale so yeah.... Can't be a fluke when you have that track record.

A little surprised those guys would be taking interviews during the regular season. I could see gauging interest through intermediaries such as an agent. If they did interview, well there is the value of being decisive and getting rid of your coach during the season.

Agree with this. I'd be a little surprised by that too.

Ok go do a google search on when new coaches are announced for the last 5 years. They are usually announced right after their regular season ends. So if you do not think that a interview process and contract negoations do not take so LONG before it is announced you are wrong.

Consider this Houston and Memphis are not destination jobs. Sure it is frustrating and distracts from your team, but you got to take those interviews if you want to move up in jobs.

Don't be fooled by the Maryland poster, both of these guys are out of their price range too. There are much better open jobs out there and these two will be coaching at name brand football schools next year.

If by chance Maryland does land one of these guys, we are in big big trouble with Flood behind the wheel.
