Yes- it was a freshman moment. He did knock down four key FT. I think he'll be fine over time.

Baker is supposed to be the best shooter on the team.I think Kiss is the best shooter but he can't play until next season.
The team was sleep walking at the beginning of the game.Thank goodness Williams played because this game had all the makings of a embarrassing loss which was too frequent in past seasons.

This team needs shooters .Every season mediocre opponents have 1-2 players that can put the ball in the basket on a consistent basis like # 1 today.

That's because he is. There's much more to the game than shooting. Geo defends aggressively, is all over the passing lanes, passes well & looks for teammates. His 4 steals were huge, as were his 4 assists and 4 clutch FT's.
Nigel had some good scoring games but repeatedly fell asleep on defense, shot FT's poorly and was bad for team chemistry (from Pike's own mouth).
Geo earned a starting job as a freshman. Shooting can develop over time. Court savvy, unselfishness & hustle not as much.
Certainly didn't see any evidence of improved face to basket play. He was aggressive trying to get inside early on, missed couple in traffic. In second half he did manage to work in his patented fake one way/spin move turnover the other way .
I was at game and scratch my head with Corey. He played a nice game vs St john's and even last year played better vs BIG opponents. Baker will be fine... he'll start shooting the ball and his court vision will make easy baskets for his mates. Our defense let us down today its that simple. We have alot cleaning up to do...Monday practice will be tough and should be.
Corey seems to not bring against inferior competition..thinks he is the best on the court and can do what he pleases, today he wasnt even the third best player on the court
I have to wonder if they accidentally over-inflated the ball or something. CCSU hit many "swish" 3's, but for us, every ball that hit the rim bounced out. Ones that were half-way down. And Corey's that looked like it was falling in the hoop, landed on the back of the rim, and seemed to stop at the hoop turn right and fall off after 5 seconds. Sometimes there's a lid on the rim for some reason. We'll get over it. That said, need more defense effort on Tuesday. Did not have our rebounding on game tonight.
