Wake Forest played horrendously in that half and is within striking distance. Bad omen, but if we keep the pressure up, we will be ok
I'm going to say it again for the umpteenth year.... This program needs to get more points from beyond the arc.
EVERYBODY does it . we pretty much dominate but they make 6 of 9 from the perimeter which is whey they're even in the game. Many of those were contested too. Guys make shots. We need to too.

the defense is fine at least 2 of those makes were well covered.
How about we do that (make late contested 3s) sometimes?
They full court pressed us out of the timeout. We needed to be patient to get the ball across half court.
Even if not, sprinting down and jacking up a shot in less than 12 seconds just to get the ball back with <10 seconds again is not a good plan. If there is 55 seconds or something, sure
54.5% isnt good D...we are playing great D in terms of pressuring the ball..inbounds but shredded from outside
Our offense is only clicking from this pressure D...otherwise our offense isnt that great despite shooting 58.5% Aggressive successful...passive we are bad
Imo we need to be as physical as we can

First half was filled with Fool’s Gold on both sides.
Doubt we’re going to force 12 TOs in the 2nd half again, so we need to be better in half court defense.
But I also doubt WF is going to shoot 6-9 from 3-Pt range again. But we need to do a better job not leaving their shooters wide open.

They scored 33 points in a half while shooting 6/9 threes. defense was fine come on
Mag stop with the 3s- find the guy like making them
Best matchups for RU are when a team has a great offense but a bad defense like today.
I liked how McConnell helped up Appleby after Appleby’s diving defense. Players don’t often do that anymore. But that was a great effort defender recognizing great effort defending.
