Basketball GAMEDAY THREAD: Rutgers vs. Seton Hall in the GSH Classic

Don't want to hear about out of bounds. Terrible offense last two minutes.

Offense doesn't move the ball nearly enough. No cutting and way too much dribbling on the perimeter.
The offense would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad. Paul dribbling the ball for 20 seconds with his back to the basket praying they don’t steal it. Then a desperation high ball screen and kick out to someone who can’t shoot it in the ocean as the clock expires…. Or pass into Cliff who is playing with six fingers.

our three upper classman were awful, paul , caleb and cliff. not ready to play from the beginning. thought we were going to just roll them. I said the play of the game was when we were up four and got a turnover and then caleb jacks up a one on four 3 pointer. they coke down and hit a 3. that was it

Probably the worst game of Mulcahy's career. Cliff was brutal, cam does nothing. Simpson MIA. And Hyatt couldn't make a layup if his life depended on it

.

Don’t agree. If you call TO defense gets breather and setup. Play it out. The problem is we don’t have go to scorer.
when you don’t have to go to scorer to create you need to run some action to get someone a look which you can do in a timeout . the defense was already set

Contrary to what some have said, we ran some good sets out of the dead ball situations.

Key stat is 7-16 on layups

Key no call was Ndelfo foul on Cliff -- ALL arm on that.

I would like to see a replay on the final rebound on the endline sequence -- anyone have it?

Someone has to tell mulcahy not to run full speed under the basket and then wait for a cutting man while 4 defenders guard him. What the **** is that

Incredibly damaging loss in terms of tourney resume.
Don’t think that will be much of a problem … RU will have trouble winning any game down to the wire … Miami, OSU, SHU … someone needs to decide to be that go to guy.

Still a chance RU puts it together. But I’d be very surprised based on what I’ve watched.

19 turnovers right? Just like every game this team just doesn’t value the ball on offense and it once again cost them the game. Guess it just won’t change at this point since it’s been the same shit for years now. Layups, fast breaks, turnovers…

Seton Hall is a mediocre team who can't shoot and they humiliated us. How are they beating any decent team in this league going forward.

Having serious doubts about cam at this level. Dude can't shoot for shit. Need Simpson to grow up fast

Pike’s teams are so f’ing predictable.
Just when you think they’re looking good, boom lose to Temple. Boom lose to Miami.
Great win against Indiana. Boom lose to Seton Hall.
And you guys want us to play one of those holiday tournaments?

we’ve turned the ball over less than the average team at least over the last few years. Not the issue in general

SHU uses hands more than feet on defense -- we did not exploit that

Cam is not a true shooter. True shooters are itching to get looks because they think everything is going to go in. they are not scared and won’t hesitate to hoist it up.

I'm confused by you using "apologists" over and over.

Are there people saying we didn't get screwed against OSU?
And if there are, how did they cost the team a win?
He seems to think that:
(1) Pike should've somehow magically convinced them to overturn that game and, somehow
(2) That his not doing that somehow resulted not only in losing to OSU but also in losing to Seton Hall

how this works, I am not sure, but there is a high probability that it is just trolling

How the hell does Hyatt miss there?
He has zero touch around the basket. I've never seen a division 1 player who is so bad at making a simple layup . He should've slammed it in and maybe even drawn a foul. Instead he's a guaranteed brick

morbid curiosity -- but did anyone get a good look at that last baseline rebound?

The replays they showed on TV it looked like he was in bounds to me. He went out but it looked like after he threw the ball back in. But I haven't analyzed it closely.
