...my colleague's son is interning on Busch Campus this summer, and they live in Manhattan. Now he has no familiarity at all with the campus bus system, and it doesn't make sense for him to have to kill 3-4 hours until his dad can pick him up, so how close would the campus bus system get him to the train station? And which bus line(s) would he need to take from Busch (he's in Nelson Hall) to get there? Thanks!

Been awhile since I have used the bus system however, the Busch to main campus bus not only returns to its starting point in front of the College Avenue Gym but its next run and first stop is (or used to be) across from Scott Hall at College Avenue and Hamilton Street. That leaves you a two or three block walk to the New Brunswick train station.

From Busch he can hop on a Summer 2 bus and get from Busch to the train station fairly quickly. Make sure he knows NOT to take a Summer 1.

The Summer 2 bus makes five stops on Busch (the Busch Campus Center, Davidson Hall, Library of Science, Allison Road Classrooms, and the Hill Center). The closest stop from Nelson would be Allison Road Classrooms, less than a 5 minute walk. So he'll get on there and there will only be one more stop on Busch, Hill Center. After Hill, the bus goes directly to College Ave and make stops at the Rutgers Student Center, Scott Hall, and then the train station.

Tell him to download the Rutgers app (just search "Rutgers" in the app store), it'll have all the bus times for him.

There are only two bus routes in the Summer (summer 1 and summer 2). If he gets on the summer 2, the next campus after Busch is College Ave (I don't know if it stops at the train station or whether he'll need to walk a couple of blocks) . Check out the RUDOTS page for more details.

Now he's an intern; will he need any type of ID to get on the bus?

Sheeesh. Kid can't figure this out on his own? Needs Daddy"s/Mummy's help? Or their RU connection's help?

Sorry, Spanks. Just kinda feeds the whole "catered to" millennial dynamic. And it's way too prevalent. And troubling.

Now get off my lawn. And take the brat with you.

High school kid who was on the RU campus for the first time today.

Kid is going to spend 90 to 120 minutes commuting one way from busch to manhattan...... that sounds horrible.
