God Forbid: Creme NCAA Bracketology

Well, I am surprised and disappointed to see the RealtimeRPI now shows RU with RPI 28. Also, in accordance with my previous comment in treating RU in the worst possible way, Creme has RU as an 8-seed in Waco. Baylor likely will be overall #1 seed. Looks like the mid-major programs that won their conference tournaments bumped RU: Buffalo, SDSU, BYU.

I still don't trust Creme's prognostications. For me he's not even close to being good at this like Lunardi is with the men's bracket.

Sunday's games will shake up Creme's brackets somewhat. For example, he still has Drake as the automatic MVC bid, but Drake lost to MOS in the MVC finals, so that has got to change.

Since Drake is a ranked team with a good rpi, probably MVC will wind up with two teams in the NCAAs. That's going to cause somebody (Indiana, maybe? or Tennessee?) to bubble out.

Don’t worry RU will get that 8 seed in CT bracket.

NCAA not impressed with 3rd place finish, and playing tough in the tourney against the tourney champs in the semis. Single digit losses(22-9) as a B1G member? Unacceptable in their eyes!

Personally, 3rd best team in B1G deserves a 7 or higher seed. Let’s compare RUs WBB vs 3rd place Men’s team.

MICH. 2
MSU. 2
Purdue 3
Wisconsin. 5
Maryland. 6

5 Men’s teams are a 6 seed or better.

Let’s see what respect the Women get ...

I think the College Sports Madness projected bracket makes more sense than the Creme projected bracket.

And it shows us as a 6th, with two winnable games to get to the sweet. That's nice.

Incidentally, the bracket headlines "as of 3/16," but it seems to include the games through the 18th (notice that Missouri State is in, which probably wouldn't be so without its upset of Drake on Sunday).

Of course, the committee can stick with its usual RUScrew. I've read that the committee CAN consider "current team status" (like late season injuries or, for example, two key player late season dismissals). And if they CAN, they probably WILL. We'll know tonight.

I wonder when the last time was that the 3rd place Big10 W BB team got worse than a 7 seed ? I'll try to look it up later.

And RU did finish fairly strong at the end of the season even w 2 player dismals. Close Semi final loss to the Big10 Winner, and a 4 game winning streak leading up to the Semifinal.

edit- It didn't take long, lol In 2017 it appears the 3rd place Big10 WBB team got a 9 seed. Yikes.

Based on history, I fully expect to be in an 8/9 game somewhere when the brackets come out.

I would take that in a heartbeat compared to prior screw jobs. Is there a 12 seed hosting this year? That's where we would end up playing.

I guess my earlier post above was unfortunately accurate.
boo hiss [winking] for your accuracy .
But now the seed is done, the hope of making it past UConn can start ( knowing when the team will face them) and that would make for
a lot of happy RU WBB fans

Well, Charlie certainly sticks to his guns - he picks RU as his team that's worse than its seed. (The other picks by ESPN experts are both Gonzaga, which is a 5.)

Screw him. He couldn't shine Joe Lunardi's shoes. The guy is a pretentious !@#$!@#$@! and goes with the most popular picks even over SOS and RPI. Personally, I think coming in 3rd in the B1G, we deserved a 7 seed and possibly a 6th seed.
