i never second guess these things, personnel decisions or play calling. I just don't'. But last night I was questioning this decision before the play happened. MIchigan was 0-3 in the red zone to that point and it was way too early in the game. They lost by 1 point.
On the flip side the D was on a roll and maybe he expected very little scoring the rest of the way. He may have also been trying to get Speight some confidence.
