i never second guess these things, personnel decisions or play calling. I just don't'. But last night I was questioning this decision before the play happened. MIchigan was 0-3 in the red zone to that point and it was way too early in the game. They lost by 1 point.

On the flip side the D was on a roll and maybe he expected very little scoring the rest of the way. He may have also been trying to get Speight some confidence.

Thoughts?

Recall hearing the announcers talk about this. Don't recall exactly what was said but it was along the lines of:
Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers, Jabrill Peppers,

Yeah annoying as hell but fairly accurate. He likely punches in a couple of those first 3 trips to the red zone.

I missed most of the game as we were on a road trip and at dinner. Got home to watch the second half and fell asleep. Woke up for the blocked extra point. Just glad Harbaugh, lost but B1G is now 2-3 (maybe not accurate), and some folks are chirping the B1G is slow and plodding, and expect Clemson to roll tOSU tonight.

we will wonder how "injured" he really was, if at all..... I suspect his teammates are not too
happy with him if this was just to protect himself for the draft

all the work put in during the season to get to a major bowl, your supposed best player
fakes an injury, and you lose by one....... would definitely be a super selfish move, not very
forgiveable

I agree but he was not the only one to skip their bowl game and look at what happened to Butt. I don't like it at all but these guys see $$$$$.

Back to the original point. Anyone think Harbaugh screwed up going for two?

Harbaugh takes a "B" grade into the final - and finishes with just barely a "C+"

I thought his bigger mistake was not using the timeouts when fsu was in the red zone.

I would much rather receive the ball with 1:40ish and no time outs, than 32 secs and all 3 time outs. Esp since the clock stops for first downs made.

That seemes like a royal f*ck up to me.

Players sitting out of non-playoff bowl games will just become a more common occurrence as we move forward. Too much money at stake at the next level for some of these kids to risk it.

I missed that, dozed off. No reason not to use at least one or two timeouts there.

He is losing a boat load of starters. I know he has blue chippers in reserve but as I said in the other thread, I think they have a rough year next year. Rough meaning outside of the Top 10.

Schiano will have that defense ready to go since he always had us ready to go in our bowl games. As for the B1G, we are slow. I texted a buddy last night this very thing after watching Nebby's and Michigan's games. When you play a Florida team, you're gonna play speed. That's also why Schiano and every other coach recruits DBs and wideouts out of Florida--they are fast.

So Michigan was slow last night playing a Florida team (in Miami)? Were they slow 12 months ago when they beat Florida in Orlando by 5 TDs?

Michigan lost last night because their mediocre OL got abused by Florida State and because FSU hit a couple big plays on busted defensive calls. That's really it. Trying to make overarching broad proclamations about a conference based on a game or two is a recipe for being stupid.

Bigger D*$khead move by UM..1.Peppers suddenly hurt in walk through on day before game, then not on sidelines but up in box texting on his phone..or 2. Coach sleepover taking timeouts with 14 secs left and not having the ball..?
also Michigan never won a game outside the state of Michigan this season..except when they blasted RU by 70 plus points in Jersey.

He was saving his timeouts to take when FSU was in the victory formation. The guys is a coaching genius and a major douche bag

You left out that they lost because their Heisman candidate star pulled a hamstring dancing the day before the game.
Seriously, does anyone recall any player ever missing a bowl game because he pulled a hammie immediately prior to the big game ?

FSU had a little more overall team speed but it was comparable. UM is plenty fast. The biggest difference was FSU had Cook and UM didn't.

UM is not slow nor plodding.

Alabama has two NJ guys starting in their secondary.

Too early with a quarter to go to be working towards a tie game. Ultimately the decision cost them a tie game, but I never second guess these things either.
