Help setting up a directv dish in the lots

Well I've ordered a tripod dish set up and wanted some insight on aiming. I've youtubed all I can but would like some input from someone who has done it in the lots.

I have an app on my phone that tells me my aimpoint and dish polarization. It's called Dish Align and I got it in the apple App Store. Has anyone used this?

No. Seems pretty good. Uses location to determine the aimpoint in conjunction with the satellite(s) you are looking to lock on. But then again I won't know till at least Monday when it is delivered.

That lot I'm not familiar with. Blue Lot is easy. Down the same line as the soccer fence.
There is a Web site called Dish Pointer. That works great but is one dimensional. You still have to have the correct vertical.
Also one thing I learned is if you use a digital round dish as apposed to a big oval HD dish it's a million times easier. I can set up in less than a minute. I've seen people waste a whole morning try to find the HD signal.
Who cares that you watching digital? You are outside for crying out loud.

It's easy to prevent this. Leave your DeLorean at home...tomorrow and in the past

Flux capacitors only give you more time to set up the dish. They have nothing to do with the dish themselves.

The ellipse shaped dish gets better reception in our experience...at least in Blue and Yellow. Not really sure about Black

We won't have the dish till Monday and I hope to figure it out by the 26th. I figure my 5 year old can help by standing in for you. She is pretty handy. Helped me change the brake fluid the last time I did the brakes.

Oh yeah ... Oktoberfest season! Nice kickoff!

Headed out to Germany this weekend. Won't make it to Munich but one of the towns I'm staying in supposedly has the biggest beer story in the country.
