Win or lose, I will be on these boards, just like I've been on these boards since the inception of Rutgers Rivals going back over 16 years. And it's funny to me, that when I come on these boards after a win and praise the team, that never gets mentioned. Why do I think that? Because we're all elated together and good news always gets lost in the shuffle as compared to bad news or in this case bad play and bad coaching. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to come on here after a loss and say, "Wow, we played really well tonight and lost because the other team was just that much better." Unfortunately, what I witnessed last night was the same ol' same ol'. One could argue that Iowa has better talent than we do. I disagree. We are just as talented and IMO we are more athletic than they are. Their coach, their kids, their plays get their playmakters in a position to score and succeed. We rarely do that. If we lost last night after a hard fought battle of good quality play, I would have been the first one here to congratulate the team. In my view last night's loss should have been a win regardless of the foul discrepancy, which we deserved btw.
As to supporting the women's program, you bet I do! I give a lot of money EVERY YEAR to Rutgers athletics which supports the revenue sports and the non revenue sports. And I will continue to support my alma mater in all thing academics and athletics, because I'm passionate about Rutgers. And whether I'm rooting for women's BB, men's BB, football, soccer, wrestling, etc., I come to these boards to share and debate. I'm not here to hold one's hand or sugarcoat bad play or bad coaching, whether here or on the other boards. That's what these boards are for--to engage with other fans/alums passionate about Rutgers. So criticism is par for the course as are accolades when deserved. Last night's loss was deserving of criticism. I'm sorry I wasn't able to watch the win against Minnesota. I'm sure I would have come on these boards and loudly "supported" our women like I usually do.
