My son got tickets for WS game #5 standing room at Yankee Stadium. That means I need to decide do we want to experience a WS game for the 1st time in our life, or should he sell them,as both of us are Mets fans. I told him we could go, get our asses kicked for cheering on the Dodgers, or go and give the Thumbs Up to kill the Thumbs Down karma, lol.Oh, what to do. Hey Proud to Be, what times the game?[roll]Yes, at this point, it's obvious the Yankees are winning this series

If you two have Mets jerseys on and do the thumbs down thing you will be on TV. Maybe multiple times.

I was able to attend Game 5 of the 2008 series, and see the Phillies win the world championship. (That was the game that stretched over two nights, and I knew everyone around me when the second night came.) It was a great experience. Go.

I have been to a few WS games and I remember each one of them. Awesome memories.

Fortunately I am a Yankees fan, so I have had a number of opportunities to see them play.

I hope the Yankees lose every game, but I would go in your shoes. You may not have another chance later.

My son went to Game 5 vs Houston on Wednesday night, said the stadium was absolutely bonkers the craziest atmosphere ever at Yankee stadium, I asked him if it was the best Yankee game he ever attended, he said it is close with Don Mattingly Day & Mo's last game. You & your son should definitely go.

Met fan here. Was fortunate enough to see a couple of games in the 2000 series. Games 3 and 5. As others have suggested a WS game is a bucket list event. Go to game. If I had already been then I would sell.

I am amazed that no one here has offered to take those tickets off his hands... good crew here so far.. I concur.. GO!

1) use the tickets

2) i'm in line to go to my first WS game ever IF The Yankees should get that far

3) Hey look Laviano still posts here!

(that’s a joke...I’m sure some of you will figure it out ...)

Sell the tix to someone who will appreciate the experience more than your miserable self.
Lol, I'll get right on that.

Mets fan here, who lucked out and landed standing room only tickets for a Yankees World Series game in 2009.

Had thoughts about going as well, but sold on StubHub for about 4X or 5X my cost instead. Standing room tickets on the primary market were pretty cheap, relatively speaking, so they made for some tremendous upside on the secondary market. Hope that Yankees fan enjoyed the game. I enjoyed using his or her money in Las Vegas.

Mets fan here. I attended game 5 of the 1978 WS. Definitely a great experience.

Just curious, how were you able to get them? I tried to get them during the MasterCard presale and they were gone in seconds.

I was at Game 3 of the 2001 World Series. as well as many ALCS games. To be honest, the true fans are at the ALCS games, because most of the WS tickets go Corporate to those who don't appreciate them.

That may be true in NY, but it didn't seem true in Philadelphia for the World Series. The crowds seemed alike for both. The Phillies gave first priority to those with full or partial season ticket plans. I'm sure that corporations do hold plans, but everyone seemed like a fervent fan.

Looks like I'm in the minority, but baseball, World Series or otherwise, without the Yankees is unbearably boring. Never watch non-Yankees games and wouldn't be too excited to attend non-NYY WS game. If I had the option to sell, I'd do it and put the money toward something I really wanted to do. Any idea what kind of price you could get for the pair?

Sounds like other folks are fans of baseball at large and consider the WS experience worth it no matter what. Figure out which type of fan you are, I guess.

On the "pros" list, you don't have to worry about a disaopointing result. I never went to a WS game but did go to Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS. Sure wish I sold those tix.

The only dilemma I'd have is how much I could sell them for!

Wow. Only a Mets fan could have an inferiority complex so humongous as to prevent them going to a World Series game. Just give the tickets to someone in your family or a friend. What a great thing to do for someone who is a real fan.

Why not do what you want to do and not what others say?

NOPE. As a Mets fan, I'd go in a heartbeat if i wound up with WS tickets at Yankee Stadium.

I would sell them. I have been to 4 world series games. 2 in 1986 including THE game 6. Game 3 in 2000 and one at the Vet whatever year the Phils' great regular season relief pitcher choked and had to be run out of town for fear of lynch mobs. Mitch Williams?
Since neither yanks nor Dodgers are your team, I recommend selling for a big profit.

Sell sell sell, ESPECIALLY since neither of you are fans. I am a die hard Mets fan and had two seats to World Series against Royals. Kepts going back and forth...ended up sellig them for a HUGE profit and spent the money on a nice vacation. Watched the game from the comfort of my recliner.
