Hoosiers beating up on Tar Heels

Went to bed after the Fort Wayne game mystified after watching Indiana beat Kansas to open the season.

Against Fort Wayne, it was a matter of bad defense and not taking care of the ball, combined with under 30% shooting from 3 point land dooming the Hoosiers. They were outscored 40-30 in the paint and had no answer for Fort Wayne's dribble penetration. 15 turnovers were a killer leading to 12 points for Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne presented an in-state road game where some of these kids have played against each other since the playground (or the barnyard) days. The kid guarding Blackmon Jr. was an early childhood friend as an example.

Last night, Indiana came to play on the defensive side and their home court advantage is huge. Pretty much every UNC shot was contested and fought hard for. Justin Jackson was great from the outside, Kennedy Meeks looked good for a 5-10 minutes stretch in the 2nd half near the rim, however, Indiana players came to play and scrap. It's their defense that will make or break this team. We know they could shoot the lights out on most nights. It's a matter of playing hard nosed defense and contesting every possession.
