We had a game today and not one thread at all about the game which we did lose again. Unfortunately looking at this schedule I do not see us winning more than 5 games. This may be rock bottom for this program

I think once it was known that Tyler was out for the season, the season would be a wash. I never expected them to be winless at this point. I think many people were hoping that the team would suprise us but up until this point they haven't. They dont have a lot of experience ir depth.

Next year is supposed to be the year. With Tyler back and the 3 (4) transfers eligible we should be remarkably better.
Howerver, Im hoping that the coaches are looking for someone with some more height. No one on the roster is over 6'3.

I've not seen them play yet this yr to form an opinion on where the problems lie. However, it's extremely disappointing and I'm already tired of hearing the Scaife injury as the excuse for everything.
Agree with comment about lack of posts..... Past few years it's been sparse on here even after wins.
I can't think of the "why" to that situation other than excitement around the program has pretty much fizzled out. Only winning, and winning games against the upper half of the B1G may create some buzz.

I hope no one has claimed - I haven't seen it - that Scaife's illness is the excuse for losing. And I am tired of hearing folks claim that anyone thinks that,

We would be better with Scaife, on paper. Certainly doesn't mean we would be undefeated, which would be the expectation against the 4 teams we have played. We will be better next year, on paper. Only means something if it translates to wins. No guarantee.

In this particular case, I suspect the lack of game posts were because no one was following the game, I don't think it was readily available, although we are away from home so I never researched it. The lack of interest in general is because the team is losing.

More generally, I am one of those who wants CVS to go out on her own terms. At the moment, I recognize that she may not - for a variety of reasons - ever be able to have much more success on the court, and I feel very bad about that. But someone - either her or a successor - is faced with rebuilding the Rutgers program. If I doubt (currently) that she is going to be able to do it, I also wonder if someone will be hired who can do it.

she needs to retire at the end of this season. Its time. This program will win 5 games and go winless in the Big 10. Even with Tyler this was going to be only a 500 type season. No talent in the program and little chance for it to come. Tough situation for Hobbs as it was tough for Tim and Julie to deal with it

Maybe today's style of basketball is just something she does not get. Having good defense is certainly important, but scoring points appears to be important too.

Did Hobbs ever sign CVS to a new contract? Back in May it was reported that they were close to an extension which would tack on an additional two years. I'm not seeing anything official about it though. If this extension has fallen through, her contract expires at the end of next season.

Well there is no way she should be coaching beyond this season!!! She has set this program back enough the last few years. One more year and no one will be going to the games and it will take even longer to recover although as you can see with the men's program with the right coach it can certainly be done sooner in basketball than especially say football where you need so many more players.

Yes, he signed her to a 4-year deal so that recruits might actually agree to come here. No top recruit wants to sign with a coach who will be gone after her freshman year.

I'm not going to defend the team's record, but I'm annoyed by folks who complain that there are no threads. If you'd like a game thread, then go ahead and start one. You obviously know how to do that... Personally, I had no access to the game and couldn't even get the live stats working.

Roster management has been an issue for quite a few years and its amazing how far recruiting has fallen.

so then how does she recruit after that because recruits know her time is borrowed anyhow. Its an excuse used. How do players go anywhere..how did Elon get better players? Julie gave CVS a more than fair contract...4 years with incentives, CVS didnt deliver and thats the bottom line, do you think missing out on NCAAs matters at all

Consider this.... Tyler could opt out and enter the WNBA draft. It's a weak draft and she was projected high in some circles. If she has her degree, why come back to a a struggling program? I' have no inside information, but I'd be very surprised if she returns.

Well, I'm claiming that I've heard it, and multiple times from long time fans who like to point to any excuses for poor performance except coaching. They are loyalists to the end, I understand that.....however, it's a bit like trying to have a rational political discussion these days, the dialogue goes nowhere. I've told all of them that while Scaife's redshirt took a huge part of point production out of the team, this team would have underperformed last year's team, anyway.

Yes, bad this year no matter what because of the lousy recruiting CVS has done for the past 2-3 years.

My opinion:
At the end of this season, according to how it turns out, one of three things will happen, 1)Vivian will be given one more year-
2) Stringer will retire ( without being pushed out) or 3 will happen that also applies to #2 ( pushed to retire) .
3) Hobbs will tell CVS she will not be back and giver the option of retiring or being terminated.
Until then I will support C.Vivian Stringer and after this season is over will call for her to be back, or hope she retires because I'll understand Hobbs had to make a move if this season ends as bad as it looks like it will right now.

I truly want CVS to reach 1000 as tyhe RU WBB HC, but if this seasons turns out as disastrous as it looks right now like it might be, Vivian might have to take the fall like any other HC would.
