Feel the magic of the RAC in a game we had no business winning but a team that hustled, was smart and was competitiveMagic is for Penn and Teller. I just want hustle , smarts and a competitive team that is trying to develop a brand. And a coach who doesn't do naked foul shooting or scream and throw projectiles at players or stalk other coaches at baseball games.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
What did you predictYou know what I predicted....staying the course until I don't see it
Great video.Feel the magic of the RAC in a game we had no business winning but a team that hustled, was smart and was competitive
Pretty fair. I like this way of looking at it.I'll bite....5 years with gary from kenpom. 105-103-73-142-141. One can argue, as I would, that isn't bad based on his coaching budget and everything else.
looking for b1G recent equivalents.

I don't think it should take more than 3 years for Pikiell with the staff he has to produce\a roster that can be counted on making the NIT 3 out of 5 years like Waters teams did.
The question should be: when will Rutgers have a roster good enough that we can expect to see constant NCAA invites.
That should be answered in Pikiell's 4th year by the type of recruits he's starting to bring in after 3 years on the job.
Let's examine your post:I wish I shared the same optimism. We are so far behind right now. We play in a incredible conference with schools who have $, fanbases. and history. Right now we have ZERO going for us. I am not saying this to be negative. I just think people need to understand how difficult it is going to be. Done correctly think 8-10 years. The person taking Mike Williams scholarship spot won't see the practice facility and Rutgers having real success. The person taking his spot might.
People need to be honest with themselves...you have a 15 year old child who is an outstanding basketball player who is coveted by major conference schools. Rutgers is NOT on your radar, end of story.

Just trying to preach patience. Need the right coaching staff (check, I believe), need facilities (check), need on court success, need to get RAC full. Once we have that we can start getting on the radar of a kid that attends Wisconsin, Michigan State or even Maryland.
knights1212 you are now correct.
On court success and the RAC full are synonymous. FIshing in different ponds does not hurt. Take a two star with five star effort over a five star with two start effort-Coach k.
It can be built without going after the big fishes. Proven-Geo Baker. Keep an eye on him. Just wait.
That's why I really wanted Alvarado...5 star effort and high bball iq.
I hear you. It would have nice, and it would have been earlier. Onto the next one though. I trust the staff. Alverado had a ceiling. I know you watched him play, and I know why he was great, but at a certain point there would be no higher point to reach. Again, you know a ton more than I do.
Just feel Jose is the type of recruit we need at this time. Hard nosed and smart, its no secret the staff was really targeting him for these reasons. I have faith that the staff will identify their type of players, and more importantly, develop them.
