Nearly 30 games over .500 record, and a real good recruiter.
No thanks to program killer. He burned a few bridges in Colorado. He got the job (kissing *ss) over 2 more qualified assistants. When they didn't get it, both left not long after and Slick Rick teams went downhill quickly without them.No thanks. Guy's career record is buoyed by taking over a loaded Colorado team
I think Rick would also be good. He definitely knows his football as I also listen to him on XM. I believe that he was fired for getting into a March Madness basketball pool.I listen to "Ricky on SXM all the time. He'd do a great job for us.
Besides..do we really want another west coast guy.Depends on how he feels about me.. Love should be a two way street..
If you were to get a "big" name, he would be the guy. We are not UCLA so I would not look at his record there. I would look at the stops similar to us-Colorado and Washington-where he went a combined 66-30. He also had big time recruiting classes, and he now has a huge network of resources accross the whole U.S. thanks to his work as Sirius. If you were looking to give a "big" name a second chance, like Hoke, Weis, and especially Golden, this guy is 100 times better than all of those guys combined.
Seriously. Chip Kelly sucked at Oregon after having spent his whole career in the Northeast. Urban Meyer was awful at Florida AND Utah. and on and on.Bad hire. He is a west coast guy. I think you need someone with mid-atlantic/north east ties. Guy who are out of their element never seem to do well

Good coaches are good coaches. You probably do have a point for middling ones though - there are enough average coaches around that we shouldnt pick one from far away.
